If the cause of mind is the eye, then just like the eye, the mind should only be able to clearly grasp forms, but that is not the case. Because the mind is able to discriminate all objects, and even without the eye sense, there is a mind that can conceptualize forms. Similarly, the remaining ear and other senses should also be inferred. Therefore, mind consciousness does not arise from being combined with the senses, that is, when any one sense is combined with an object and not separated. If that were the case, then when the senses are not functioning, the mind should also not exist, but that is not the case, it is obvious. If it is said that the five senses together produce the mind, then these senses must have different abilities to produce their respective consciousnesses. Because the eye produces the consciousness that grasps forms, but does not produce the consciousness that grasps sounds, etc., they produce different results independently of each other, so it is impossible for one mind to arise from all the senses. If that were the case, then when one sense is not functioning on an object, the mind should also not exist, and when all the senses are functioning, the mind arises, and it should also have a clear appearance of all objects, but that is not the case, because it does not clearly grasp all objects, but grasps the general characteristics of the conceptual mind, which exists independently of any sense consciousness. Therefore, the mind arises from the continuity of its own similar previous moment, and is established independently of the senses. Second, if it is said that mind consciousness arises from a body without senses, then the hair, nails, etc. that have no senses are themselves without mind, therefore mind consciousness does not arise from other non-senses, because mind consciousness is mind, and they have no mind. If they had mind, then hair, nails, etc. should also be able to apprehend objects, but that is impossible, therefore there is no reason to establish it. If it is admitted that it exists even without a reason to establish it, then the non-Buddhists should also admit that in their own bellies there are also beings and Arhats who have transferred from the lower realms and the next life. Second, refuting arguments: refuting the impossibility of coexisting, refuting the unreasonableness of changing from dependence. First, then, there is also no necessity for the body and mind to coexist, because they are not the immediate cause and the result produced by the immediate cause, just like a vase and a cloth, and a bird perched on a tree, they sometimes gather together, but there is no necessity to exist without separating. Because it has not been seen that the mind does not depend on the body, so it is said. These together

If (body and mind) are said to be the immediate cause and possessor of the immediate cause, it is not so, because they are projected by a single karma that can project, so they exist together until the projection of karma is not completed. For example, like the five senses of a person, and like the shape and taste of brown sugar exist together. These examples cannot be considered as the immediate cause of each other, and the projector does not consider these as the immediate cause of each other. Second, if the body and mind do not depend on each other as cause and effect, then when the body changes due to poison, etc., the mind should not change, but since the mind is seen to change, is it established as cause and effect? That is not because the mind changes as a result of the body changing, but because the body is taken as the object of the mind, and thus the mind changes. For example, like fainting from seeing the corpse of a son and the blood of others. The corpse of a son and the blood of others should not be the immediate cause of the mind of the person who possesses them. Similarly, if one grasps one's own body as one's own and takes the changes such as diseases that occur in the body as the object, but not as the object of the mind's change, then it will not change, just as one's own mind does not change when another's body is sick. Second, what is meant by following? Answer: Establish one's own tenet. If any result always follows that cause, or depends on it, so that it is certain that it will not arise without it. Any cause, because of its existence, benefits any result, thereby producing it, that is the follower or cause. Therefore, if "this exists, then that arises," this is the seventh reason of causality; or "this depends on that," this is the seventh reason; or one can also use the fifth reason, "this is born from that, therefore it is the cause," this is what the Sutra says. Second, in inseparability, there is the general and the specific, the refutation of the permanence of the body. First, in it, the proposition of inseparability is shown, and its reason is established in detail. First, at some times when one is born in the desire realm, the body also helps the continuum of mind, as mentioned above, but this is superfluous. However, for pots, etc., the burning of fire, etc. also helps, but
