Pages 201 to 300. Pages 201 to 300. The way of mistaking the sign of being unmade for the thing to be proven. Refuting the responses of others who wish not to be mistaken. Firstly, like this, the very term "unmade by a person" is not a means of proving that one knows the true meaning as it is. For, the faultless fire and moonlight, etc., which are not tainted by the faults of a person's mind, such as attachment, are seen as causes of distorted knowledge other than the cause of realizing them as they are. For example, firelight at night is the cause of seeing a blue lotus as red, and moonlight at night is the cause of seeing a yellow cloth as white. Therefore, even if sound is unmade, it does not prove that if it is unmade, it is truthful, because there is doubt about being free from untruth. Lamps, etc., although not tainted by the faults of a person, are impermanent. If one believes that the Vedas are eternal, unmade by any cause, and therefore true, then the knowledge of hearing them will not become a cause either, because in eternal things, there is no ability to generate self-cognizing knowledge and objects. If it generates, it must generate simultaneously, and if it does not generate, it will never generate. If it can act together or generate from an assembly, it will become impermanent, because it has been analyzed many times before. If one says that it is not certain there, because the sky is eternal and generates the knowledge that apprehends it, then even if the eternal sky can generate self-apprehension, as just explained, it will generate simultaneously, and it is not reasonable to remain there and generate gradually. Therefore, the eternal is only empty, because it does not perform the function of gradualness or simultaneity. If one thinks that knowledge in the sky will become without cause, then we accept that external objects are without cause, but it does not become that knowledge alone is without cause, because the habitual imprints of internal conceptualization from beginningless time awaken and arise, and even though there is no object, the minds that cognize the sky, etc., which are the objects of imputation as objects, will arise from that mere habitual conceptualization, and not from external objects as objects of their own characteristics. The appearance of general meanings in internal conceptualization does not necessarily have objects of their own characteristics as causes, because it has been analyzed hundreds of times before.

It is done. Therefore, even without their names, they will not change, but there is only the imputed name, and nothing of the imputed meaning is established as a substance, because neither other-consciousness nor self-consciousness can ascertain its own characteristics. As it is said in the sutra: 'It is often said in the language of sentient beings that the sky is visible. How is the sky visible? Examine this meaning.' As it is said, it is only a matter of imputation by conceptual thought that it is seen and regarded as permanent. If analyzed, there is not even a particle of the self-characteristic of what is to be seen and the cause of permanence. Secondly, in response to the criticism that the inverse pervasion is not established in this way, the other party presents an answer on how to establish a single inverse: If it is only because what is done by a person is seen as having the meaning of falsehood, then the opposite of that, the word of what is not done, is the meaning of truth. Because the sign of what is not done, that is, what is done in reverse, pervades the meaning of falsehood that contradicts the truth, then what is not done, which is the opposite of the pervader of the meaning of falsehood, will be established as the meaning of truth. If you say so, even if what is done and what is not done contradict each other, the truth of the probandum of what is not done will not be excluded by the sound of what is done. Therefore, even if the reason that the sign does not exist or does not apply to the opposite side of the meaning of falsehood is not pointed out, or the reason that the sign applies to the opposite side with harm is not specifically pointed out, it will be suspected that what is not done cannot have the meaning of falsehood, and thus it will be suspected that the sign also exists in the opposite side. The mere contradiction between the two pervaders cannot establish the contradiction of the pervader. Because even for the pervader things that contradict each other, such as what is produced by effort and what is not produced by effort, the pervader impermanence is seen as the same. Therefore, even if the sounds of the pervaders what is done and what is not done are contradictory, the pervader truth is the same, or there may be the same meaning of falsehood, because there is no reason to prevent what is not done from not having the meaning of falsehood, so it is only a vow. That the sign does not exist in all the opposite sides is because it is not seen or unattainable, so it cannot be established. It has been said before that even if the sign cannot be seen in the opposite side, it is possible to have illusions, such as inferring whether the fruit is ripe by the bud. Therefore, in order for the sign not to exist in the opposite side, if the sign and the probandum do not exist, it will not arise.
