Is it a rush? Or if there is nothing to be expressed, then the sound of expression cannot arise, and if it is the fruit arising from that, even if the meaning to be expressed can be determined by sound alone, neither of these is the case. Even if completely reversed from these two connections, it cannot be certain that any sound is necessarily free from confusion with the meaning to be expressed. If it is said that the application or arising of the expressive sounds of any thing is because it is done by first seeing what the thing to be expressed is, therefore it is considered to be dependent on the thing, then how can sounds with mutually contradictory meanings such as permanence and impermanence be applied to the same thing like a pot? Because it is not possible to know that either of the two exists in the thing. Therefore, if the expressive language and the entity of the thing to be expressed do not have some rational form of the examiner or thinker, the connection that does not arise will not be established. How then can it be certain that what is shown in that language is exactly as it is? It cannot be certain at all. Secondly, therefore, like the language that shows the meaning of the end of the kalpa, even if it is wrong or non-existent, the thing will not be proven to be non-existent merely because it is not stated there. Therefore, to determine the result that the end of the kalpa does not exist, the three valid cognitions used by that person to prove it are wrong, or it cannot be proven merely because the three valid cognitions have not observed it. Secondly, admitting contradictory treatises is shown as a sign of foolishness, namely: the contradictory Vedas are the permanent self-born valid cognition, and saying that I and some other permanent things are the authors of the fruit, and thinking that white dharma will increase from bathing in the Ganges (Ganga) etc., and even if there are no qualities such as discipline, arrogance arises merely from saying that this is the caste of Brahmins etc., and in order to destroy the sins within sentient beings, one should strive to torment the body with five fires etc., these are foolish people such as examiners, because they do not possess the wisdom arising from the power of valid cognition from the rationality of the power of things, and they are attached to bad treatises, so contrary to correct wisdom, the five licentious inner signs transferred to the external body and language, because all of these are examined with reason, they are in a state of untruth. These five are the main signs of foolishness.

Briefly speaking, if examined in detail, the characteristics of a fool are endless. In the verses of the Commentary on Valid Cognition, the inference for oneself, that is, the commentary on the first chapter, is well completed. Thus, how is the method of inference? Through the door of what has already been said, according to the meaning of the praise in the Compendium on Valid Cognition, in this second chapter, the method of establishing the path to liberation through reasoning is explained. The Teacher is shown as a valid person, His proof is extensively explained, The purpose of showing it in this way is threefold. First, the general characteristics of validity are explained, Therefore, the Able One is shown as valid. First, the characteristics of validity are shown, And the way to establish exclusion from it, And to refute disputes about it. First, validity is knowledge that is not deceptive. So it is said. Secondly, if merely the appearance of an object is not deceptive, then like the illusion of seeing two moons, which is a non-conceptual error, and like mistaking a rope for a snake, which is a conceptual error, there is also an object of self-appearance. If one only grasps what has been obtained, then direct perception and inference will also become taking what has not been obtained and not taking what has been obtained, because the object and the subject are momentary. Therefore, the so-called non-deceptive knowledge will be impossible. If one asks: the object of a person's entry, this self-characteristic can function, therefore, it is examined through linguistic analysis and acceptance and rejection are made. What cannot function, as previously explained, is meaningless to examine as an object of acceptance and rejection. Therefore, when these minds enter after completely determining the meaning, the one who enters in this way, abiding in the ability to function, is non-deceptive. Thus, that mind obtains the meaning as it has determined, therefore it is called valid. Thus, obtaining existence is an undeniable existence in the world, and only this completes the meaning of validity in worldly terms. Therefore, deluded cognitions, etc., do not exist in the nature of meaning as determined by the mind. There is also no need to analyze and examine moment by moment, therefore, non-deceptive knowledge exists in this way. In this, in what object is there no deception? That is, in the self-characteristic of the meaning as determined. By whom is there no deception? That is, by the mind of the two valid cognitions. How is there no deception? That is, if it determines it to be existent, then it does not deceive as existent; if it determines it to be non-existent, then it does not deceive as non-existent.
