If one thinks that the mind that appears as the order of letters occurring earlier and later, and the mind that illuminates the permanent object, means that the object itself is illuminated. That refers to the mind, not the object. If such an illuminating mind is not dependent on a person (Sanskrit: Pudgala), and does not consider the object to be permanent, then it contradicts the self-acknowledged mind being dependent on a person, because the Samkhya school acknowledges the mind as a quality of a person. This contradicts direct perception, because a person's mind is observed to arise from their own senses, attention, etc. This contradicts common knowledge, because in the world it is commonly known as a person's mind. This is contradicted by inference, because it is observed that the mind follows the arising and ceasing of a person's senses, attention, etc., so it is known that without these, the mind cannot arise. Thus, direct perception and so on contradict simultaneously. Furthermore, if one thinks that just as there is illumination in the mind, there is also order in the object. Then, it has already been clearly analyzed that the order that is different from letters also exists in the object. Therefore, order and so on are merely imputations by conceptual thought, because without imputation they cannot arise. So how could they not be dependent on a person and become external phenomena? Such a situation is impossible. The seven statements such as 'the mind is not dependent on a person' are in response to the previous assertion that permanent things are merely illuminated by the cause of illumination. Does that cause of illumination generate a previously non-existent excellence in the permanent things to be illuminated? Or does it remove obscurations? Or does it generate its mind? Which of these three is it? The first is impossible, because it is impossible for its nature to generate excellence, and if it did, it would become impermanent. The second is also unreasonable, if you block it with its nature, etc. If, like the third, illumination is the mind and its order is speech, then the mind and speech would become one. If that were the case, speech, because it is not created, would become not created by a person or not dependent on a person, and this would be contradicted by acknowledgment, etc. This is what is said in the self-commentary and Shakya Blo's commentary. Here, if one asks whether it is not contradictory to apply the mind of recognition, etc., to everything, it is not contradictory, because there is a reason for showing this after refuting recognition, etc., as bad reasons for establishing that sound is permanent. The order of letters is clear.

Not only that, but it shows that all wisdom that knows the permanent dharma can be applied, so here it is explained according to the order of the scriptures. Therefore, although it is wisdom that reveals the appearance of the object, if the cause of that appearance, the object to be grasped, is not different, then the difference between the appearance of wisdom and time cannot arise, which can be inferred. Second, the method of establishing the impermanence of sound in one's own sect is: first, state the fundamental reason, and then establish its pervasiveness. First, destruction is inherently related from the moment things exist, just like the heat of fire, so all things such as sound are impermanent from the moment their own nature exists. That is to say, the destruction to be established and the existence as a reason have the same ontological relationship, expressing the pervasiveness of non-existence. The established dharma with reason, sound is impermanent, which is stating the dharma characteristic. Second, establish concomitance through independent reasons, and establish reverse pervasiveness through harmful ones. First, hinder the destruction caused by other causes, and refute the destruction not caused by other causes. First, if someone says that existence alone is not necessarily destroyed by its own nature, but depends on other causes of destruction. Then, destruction does not depend on other causes, but destroys itself. If it depends on others, then is that destruction other than or the same as the thing to be destroyed? If it is the former, then things like wood are not destroyed, because they exist but are not destroyed, so that non-existence itself is destruction, so if it is said that destruction is other than things, then the cause of the destruction of wood, fire, compared to the wood itself, becomes other things, becomes the thing of destruction, then will it arise? Because other things are produced from that cause, the wood remains without destruction as before, so the wood itself will become visible, for example, the pillar will not disappear even if the bottle is produced. If not, it would be too much, because other things are produced, others will disappear. If there is no fruit called destruction produced from those causes, then the cause of destruction is also meaningless. If the other thing of destruction produced from fire, is the destruction of this wood, then how can the wood not be destroyed?
