It will also be explained. If something that is possible to appear but unseen, does it exist without using the term 'non-existent'? Yes, it does. Just as the Samkhyas believe that both cause and effect are possible to appear, but the effect is not seen in the cause, yet they do not use the term 'non-existent'. Therefore, this sign of being possible to appear but unseen, because it shows that the non-existent thing is established as the nature of the result of the name of non-existence, in meaning, it can also be included as a sign of nature. Second, furthermore, if there is something that contradicts any dharma, then the contradictory will also harm its existence, because they cannot coexist, therefore, the sign of seeing something that contradicts it will definitely be a negation sign, because it will definitely become without contradictories. Second, regarding the refutation of arguments: arguing about the case of being possible to appear but unseen, and arguing about the case of being not appearing but unseen. First, the subject, such as "chief," is shown only as sound and meaning. Other than that, it is not appropriate to have its own characteristic. Eliminating the doubt that it contradicts the scriptures. First, this being visible but not seen cannot establish the meaning and name of the chief being non-existent, because, as the teacher Dignāga stated, "The chief does not exist because it is not seen." If the subject, the chief, which possesses the three characteristics of sound, meaning, and quality, does not exist, then its verbal expression is also inappropriate. If the sound is not expressed, then there is no subject. If there is no subject, then it is necessary to state a wild negation, but that is not permissible because without showing the object to be negated, the term of negation is not permissible. Since there is no subject, the sign cannot be established as a property of the subject. If the sound is expressed, then the subject, the chief, will exist, and in that case, establishing non-existence is contradictory, and the sign of non-perception is also reversed, so it is not appropriate to negate it in that way. That is an argument that does not distinguish between appearance and imputation. Because there is sound and meaning, there are no three faults such as the subject not existing, and because there is no self-character, the two faults such as contradicting the vow are eliminated, because the chief is only sound and meaning, and there is no self-character at all. Thus, the sound and meaning that express existing things such as a pot, birth, and oneness, which are completely established and fabricated by the conceptual thought arising from the habitual tendencies that have been transmitted from beginningless samsara, and the non-pot, rabbit horn, unborn, and non-one.

The meaning of words that measure non-existence, etc., and both depend on, such as knowable and measurable, etc., the Dharma of word meanings, There are three types, namely, the words that make those three the object of expression, and by those words, other than that are cut off, and only the meaning of the words is thrown into the realm of the mind. Therefore, the main thing of just the meaning of the word is to establish the external object as the near-taking or causeless meaning of the word alone, and the self-character of the main thing is not specified. Establishing non-existence in this way is a valid reason. The meaning of the main word or the appearance of imagination is not non-existent, because it is called the main word, and it is established as a Dharma. Secondly, the appearance of the meaning of the word itself is not self-characterized, and it is not pervasive that it arises depending on the self-character, because even if there is no self-character, the word concept can only be held. If it is not like this, all words are only one in the ultimate self-character, that is, words do not apply without self-character. If words apply, then what is said is self-characterized, and if it is considered to be pervasive, then due to the differences in the views of each wish and doctrine, the words that express the differences such as permanence and impermanence, yes and no, etc. for meanings, words, etc. will not be established in this way because they are causeless. For example, for the same tree, due to the difference in what one sees, some say that the tree is permanent, and some say that it is impermanent, and similarly, some say that there is mind, some say that there is no mind, etc., although they exist. All of these are not dependent on the self-character of the tree, because the self-character cannot be both in any case, so for the expressions of inconsistent meanings, it is impossible to say so because there is no cause. The same fault, words will not apply to the objects of past and unborn meanings, because they do not exist now. In addition, none of the words will become false meanings, because no matter what is said, the self-character of what is said exists, so it is impossible for a false statement to exist. Therefore, these words are the meaning of the discriminating mind, and are considered to be only the realm of appearance, not the realm of self-characterized reality. Therefore,
