Furthermore, the manner of refuting other views is shown: By the very reasoning that shows all things to be different, those naked ones, because they go without clothes, are shameless or fearless, all their inverted and confused words of doctrine, saying that "is" and "is not" are both, so anything goes. For example, like "cow dung, because it is of the same essence, can turn into yogurt, but because the state is different, it will not change," etc., without taking or rejecting, speaking wildly in all directions, those evil doctrines are also refuted. The own-characteristics of things are truly existent, because they exist in their own nature, not in another way. Sometimes, being non-different from others is non-existent in any way. Moreover, like you, thinking that all things are of the same essence, then all things are the essence of both "is" and "is not." Because you cannot distinguish between "is" and "is not," so when someone urges you, naked one, drink yogurt, why don't you run to drink cow dung? If it is said that yogurt has some excellent or special qualities, such as cow dung does not have, can turn into milk, can be drunk, etc., then what makes the particularity of the state of cow dung only apply to yogurt? Because there is an excellent quality, that is yogurt, because that quality is not in other cow dung, so it is not both, but other, it is different. If all things are the self-nature of all other things, then for them, the wisdom that knows them and the sound that expresses them will not be different. For those who say that all different states are contained by the same essence, without difference, because the difference of sound and wisdom does not arise, therefore, the terminological concepts of considering difference as the same, etc., will not exist. Second, showing the refutation of the sound and concept of non-things: Others say, even if the sound and concept with things as objects can understand and recognize the self-nature of things by the power of excluding other things, but, does the sound and concept that expresses non-things, such as "no pot," etc., express and recognize the own nature of non-things? If it is, then non-things have a nature, if not, then the sound and concept will not become its object either, such as the pillar's...

If it is said that sound is not like the object of cognition of a pot. Because non-existence does not have even a little of its own nature in expression, should we examine whether its nature is expressed or not? Even if it is not so, then for what reason is the sound that expresses it used? It is established that it only expresses the complete negation of what is to be refuted. Therefore, what is thrown out by sound or what is cut off by what is to be refuted is only a distinction there. In what place and time does what dharma not exist? It is only established by the power of cutting off what is to be refuted in which object of negation, and non-existence as an independent entity is nothing. Third, the classification of the characteristics of nature: things and the elimination of disputes about them. First, there are also two classifications of the way of establishing the characteristics of nature: either throwing into the realm of consciousness like relying on the branches of one's own distinguishing dharma, or although it is so, or not relying on display, like this, without really throwing out with words, merely establishing the nature as a characteristic, these two are intended to be expressed in order to establish that the other characteristic to be established is related to that entity in a single way. For example, when establishing destruction or impermanence, like sound, it is established as showing the result produced from causes and conditions, as well as establishing existence. Therefore, the former of those two characteristics is called dependence, because saying "because it is made" shows dependence on other meanings that have become causes and conditions, and similarly, it also includes "because it is produced from effort," and so on. Even if it is said to have birth, because birth is the nature of the dharma itself, so although the acting dharmas are not different, it also truly throws out dependence on the cause with the power of words. If it is established as a characteristic like existence or things, then it is called merely or pure, because there is no need to throw other causes, etc. into the realm of consciousness, the nature of the characteristic can be established, so it is called merely one's own nature or merely, even if others are not thrown into the realm of consciousness, it can be established like heat to fire, so there is no need to rely on others, or merely one's own nature becomes a characteristic, so there is no need to be purified by others, so it is called pure. Second, existence is established as a characteristic, and the main point is also argued to be the same. In response to this, the difference of dissimilar answers is shown.
