Because that characteristic as a reason is not seen in both permanence and impermanence other than sound. For example, sound is the subject, it is permanent, because it is audible. If it is established like this, in the dissimilar side, because that (reason) is not seen in impermanent lightning etc., then it would be inferred that sound is permanent, is that reason established? Also, sound is impermanent, because it is audible. If it is established like this, in the dissimilar side, because it is not seen in space etc., then it would also be inferred that sound is impermanent. Such an establishment is not permissible, because these two mutually abandon and contradict each other, and by the power of cutting off one side, the other side is established, therefore it would be inferred that actual contradiction combines on the same basis, because it is harmed by other valid cognitions, so it is not admitted like that. If that is the case, then now it is clear that merely not seeing on the dissimilar side does not necessarily establish certainty. Just as what was said just now, for other reasons that assume that pervasion is established merely by not seeing, it is also possible that the establishment of what is to be established by that reason is harmed by other valid cognitions. Therefore, it should be understood as the teacher said, "How can generality and particularity become reasons that distinguish in any way?" Sixth, it is reasonable to infer that the prevention of tangibles is reasonable, because by the reason of "not seeing by the specific ones," to establish that tangibles are neither cold nor hot, and are not possessed by the visible earth, water, and fire, that would also become without error, because merely not seeing, prevention is also reasonable. That is, the non-Buddhist specific one says, in the desolate place without trees and grass is the subject, there is the substance of wind, because the tangible of neutral feeling is perceived. If he is asked how that reason is eliminated from the dissimilar side of earth etc., he says, because such a touch is not seen in the visible earth, water, and fire, it is prevented. This person's meaning is that the tangible of neutral feeling must be a quality that arises, because it is not perceived in earth, water, and fire, so it can only be thought of as wind. Also, he says that because the tangible is visible, it is considered to be prevented by not perceiving it. Then, is the basis of prevention only the visible earth etc.? Or does it prevent all earth, water, and fire? In the first case, if it prevents the visible earth etc. but does not prevent the invisible earth etc., then it cannot be established as the quality of wind alone. In the second case, it cannot be prevented, because the tangible of all earth etc. appears.

That's why it's not possible. If seeing obstructs things like the earth, then it obstructs not seeing. Here, if blue is obstructed by yellow, or a candle is obstructed by darkness, then it will be obstructed in other places as well. If you say that, it's not the same, because here, the earth and other things that are seen do not see tangible things like softness and roughness. Therefore, for tangible things that do not fall into any side, it is difficult to observe even the wind. Therefore, proving that it is only the merit of the wind, and that the earth and other things do not have it, is meaningless. Therefore, the scholar said in "The Differentiation of Wind": If just because you haven't seen it, you obstruct seeing, that is also unreasonable. Therefore, just because you haven't seen it, you cannot determine pervasion and counter-pervasion, but you must determine it through association. Second, refuting with reason the view that not seeing alone is counter-pervasion, which is held in common by both our own and other schools. Due to differences in place, time, and conditions, even a single substance like amla can appear with different qualities such as taste, potency, and color. Due to the place of growth, the time before and after, and the conditions of cultivation methods, it will become different. Just as soaking seeds in milk will make amla sweet. Therefore, seeing one quality such as taste, potency, or color in that substance, it is not reasonable to assert that all other similar substances necessarily have that quality. That is, after tasting a sweet amla, one says that all other amlas are sweet, because I have not seen an amla that is not sweet. Just as saying this will not become an infallible reason, there is no certainty, and not seeing alone does not establish counter-pervasion. Third, refuting by contradicting the admissions of other schools. For example, the Vaisheshika school argues that a living body is with a self, the Lokayata school believes that the earth has consciousness, and the Samkhya school believes that there is curd in milk, etc., all argue for existence. Even if they admit that those are not the nature of strongly arguing for non-existence, if non-existence is established merely because they are not seen, then I and those other things that are not observed, just because they are not observed, are only those. Is the correct reason admitting that I and other things do not exist? This is the refutation. Second, establishing one's own view based on dependence on association. Proof
