Since it is related by one self without being different, if the impermanence, etc., which is the object to be proven, does not exist, then the nature of the existing agent, such as being made, will also not exist, because the two are related as one entity without being different in meaning. Secondly, the way the sign enters is explained by the power of elimination. That is to explain its distinctions in detail. First, it is shown by three verses such as "Why all things, etc." As just said, if there is no difference in essence between being made and impermanent in meaning, then the sign-dharma will become non-different, because being made and impermanent are the same essence. If you think so, it will not be so, because the opposites are different. What is that? Like this, because all these things, as many as there are, abide in their own unique, unmixed essence from the moment they are self-established, by the nature or nature of nomenclature. It is dependent on being different from oneself and the many things of the same kind and all other things of different kinds, that is, it has such a state of not being mixed with anything else. For example, the object of utpala (藏文,梵文天城体,utpala,汉语:乌 উৎপལ་) placed in front of you abides in the non-common self-character that is different from other utpalas (藏文,梵文天城体,utpala,汉语:乌 উৎপལ་) of the same kind and other things such as fire that are not utpalas (藏文,梵文天城体,utpala,汉语:乌 উৎপལ་) of different kinds. This is to show the way to eliminate others from the aspect of the meaning of self-character. Because one's own essence abides without being mixed with others, things like sound are different from other things such as unmade and permanent. With that reason, the types of made and impermanent, etc., can be distinguished by means of sound and wisdom, and through the differences such as made in that category, one can realize the impermanent, etc., which is the same as it and the essence of meaning. Those who are proficient in nomenclature will explain those reasons well. Because the opposites are different, what is the difference or distinction of the opposites, such as impermanence? What is it that becomes the dharma that makes one understand the difference of the opposite itself, such as calling one's own name impermanence? Because it is not understood by everything different from that name, such as sound and made, etc., the self-opposite of made impermanent, etc., appears in a non-common and different way.

It should be known that it abides in such a way. Second, elaborately explaining the distinctions of eliminating others, wherein: Explaining the way of entering by eliminating the sound-cognition of things, And explaining the way of entering by eliminating the sound-cognition of non-things. First, the object-possessing cognition of things should be eliminated, The expression of the object-possessing of things should be eliminated. First, the abandonment of things and disputes about them, two things. First, the fallacy of realizing negation and affirmation simultaneously, And the fallacy of different names for sound and mind, therefore establishing elimination. First, the general aspect and the particular aspect, two types. First, thus, the self-nature of the meaning of something like sound, the sole entity or that self-nature, when it is made manifest by the object-possessing self-grasping consciousness, then, regarding that object, from the sound-cognition, such as 'made' and 'impermanent,' etc., the subsequent valid cognitions should initially be examined. What other part that was not seen before is there that should become nonexistent? Because the elements of aggregates that have become the object of direct perception, the qualities that are inseparable in essence from oneself abide solely and indivisibly on the meaning itself. Therefore, regarding this, the reasoning that seeing and not seeing two parts is impossible. If some parts are seen and some are not seen, then it will become different from it. If seeing a pot, then its 'made' and 'impermanent' qualities are also seen by appearance, then it becomes unnecessary to establish the inference that the pot is impermanent. Thus, when seeing a pot, all the 'made' and 'impermanent' qualities, etc., on it, which are of the same essence as it, are seen, but due to the reason of seeing similar qualities such as whiteness, like a conch shell appearing as silver. If seeing a form, it is not certain that it is impermanent due to the cause of confusion such as the arising of other similarities, and if you do not apply or impute other qualities that the thing does not have, such as permanence, then you are correct. However, because of being deluded by the cause of confusion, in order to abandon reversed permanent grasping, etc., it does not become unnecessary to establish by reason. Also, because the conch shell and silver abide without mixing with each other. When seeing a conch shell, there is no actual seeing of silver on the conch shell at all, but it is the confusion of one's own mind due to similarity. Likewise, earlier and later moments do not mix in meaning, and even the sense direct perception cannot see and know them as mixed, but in external objects.
