Extensive explanation of the established meaning. First, the changes caused by illness are not irreversible, because they have not eliminated the body as the cause. The body remains as it was before, so it is possible to apply curative measures to that ailment. Second, changes that do not recur due to the nature of things are caused by some factors that produce permanent changes in certain places, while some changes produced by other factors are reversible, like the changes caused by fire to wood and gold. Initially, the change caused by fire to wood, although small, is irreversible. However, whatever produces a change that can be reversed, even if the change is very large, can still return to the object's original nature, like the molten gold that has been melted by fire solidifying again. Therefore, illness does not eliminate the body or transform it into another form like fire burning wood, so it is not untreatable, and thus can be restored. If someone thinks it is not possible because it has been said in the treatment methods for incurable diseases, etc., then saying that some diseases are completely incurable is because it is difficult to find curative medicines and doctors in that place and time, or because the patient's lifespan is exhausted due to karma, so it is said to be incurable. According to your view, you do not accept that the cause of the exhausted lifespan is past karma, and it is not certain that a cure cannot be found in any way; in some cases, it may be found. If the only cause of not living is illness, then there is nothing that is completely incurable by illness alone, because it increases and decreases, so its opposite, medicine, etc., can pacify it, just as fire, no matter how strong it burns, can be extinguished by water that is greater than it. Third, therefore, poisons, etc., do not remain in a dead body but naturally recede, or like poisonous boils, etc., those matured poisons gather at the wound like when they were first poisoned at the time of death, so even if those are cut off, they are separated from the factors that change the body. So why can't those revive as before? Because the factors for revival are complete. Second, in two parts: the main text and dispelling doubts about it. First: the body, which is accepted as the immediate cause of consciousness, is not momentary but permanent.

If one desires, then a closer taker than that, or a result, the mind will never arise, because it will not become a proximate cause. The reason is that whatever is a proximate cause, if it does not change into something else, then that cause itself cannot be transformed into or become the nature of the proximate taker, just as clay itself cannot be transformed into a pot, etc., without changing the nature of clay. Whatever thing exists without changing, while any other thing changes, then that thing should not be its proximate cause, just as a cow and a non-cow, fire and water, etc., are unrelated. The mind and body are also the same. Moreover, in this case of body and mind gathering together, when the body has not changed, the mind exists, and there is no difference in the body, but because of fear, sadness, happiness, etc., various differences in the changes of the mind arise, and when limbs are cut off, etc., the body changes, but the mind does not change more than before, therefore the mind that arose before did not arise from the cause of the body. Second, if the body and mind are not proximate cause and proximate taker, then what is the necessity of existing together? The pulling of the cause of previous karma causes the continuum of consciousness to connect in the womb, and the cause of that body, curds, etc., exist as co-emergent auxiliary conditions, and from this it arises, and it is the grasping of existence. The body and mind aggregate pulled by a previous karma is the result of the same cause, therefore, as long as the pulling force of karma has not been exhausted, they will exist together. For example, copper, which is produced from the proximate cause of its own kind, when that copper is melted by the co-emergent auxiliary condition of fire and becomes a molten state, just as the melting of the fire and copper itself exist together. Up to this point, the assertion that the mind arises from the proximate cause of the previously existing body when the body and mind are not simultaneous has been refuted. Moreover, the five sense consciousnesses arise from the senses, sometimes they arise and sometimes they do not. However, there is no situation where there is only mind and nothing else, and it arises without depending on each of the five senses and the aggregate, therefore there is no evidence to prove that the continuum of mind follows the body. Moreover, it has been established that it does not arise without its own kind before it, and
