Due to the faults of being defiled by the faults of attachment of a person's mind, etc., fire and moonlight, etc., which are originally without flaws, are seen as the very cause of other inverted cognitions, rather than the cause of realizing them as they are. For example, firelight at night makes blue utpalas (utpala, water lilies) appear red, and moonlight at night makes yellow cloth appear white. Therefore, even if it does not make a sound, it cannot be proved to be true, because people will doubt whether it contradicts untrue things. Butter lamps, etc., are impermanent even if they are not defiled by human subjective intentions. If it is believed that the Vedas (Veda) are eternal laws not caused by any factor, and therefore true, then they will not become the cause of the knowledge of hearing them. Because for eternal laws, there is no ability to produce cognition of things. If it can produce cognition, it must produce it simultaneously, and if it does not produce it, it will never produce it. If it can produce cognition together with other things or after gathering, then it will become impermanent, which has been discussed many times before. If someone says that this is not the case, because space is eternal, but it can produce cognition of it. Even if space is eternal and can produce cognition of itself, as just said, it can only produce cognition simultaneously, and it is not reasonable to produce cognition gradually. Therefore, eternity is only empty in terms of gradual and simultaneous action. If someone thinks that then knowledge in space will become without cause. We admit that external objects are without cause, but not that knowledge itself becomes without cause. Rather, it is because the internal discrimination has been accustomed to it since beginningless time, and when this habit awakens, it produces cognition of space, etc., although these cognitions have no actual meaning, they impose meaning on it and become a habitual discrimination. Therefore, this cognition arises only from habitual discrimination, and not with the self-character of external objects as its object. Internal discrimination only appears as a general characteristic, and does not need to have the self-characteristic as a factor, because it has been discussed hundreds of times before. Therefore, even if we cannot say that they have no names, there are only imputed names, and apart from that, there is nothing imputed that can be considered real, because neither other-cognition nor self-cognition can determine its self-characteristic. The sutra also says: 'Space can be seen, sentient beings' words.'

Regarding other debates. As it is said, "How is the sky seen? This meaning should be examined." Thus, seeing with conceptual imputation and clinging to it as permanent is merely that. If analyzed, there is not even a particle of the self-characteristic of what can be seen and what can serve as a basis. Secondly, in response to the fault of the non-establishment of such a counter-pervasion, the opponent shows the reason for establishing a single-sided reversal: If it is assumed that only things done by a person are seen as being false, then the opposite of that, words that are not done, are true. Because the sign of not-done pervades falsity, which contradicts truth, then the opposite of the pervader of falsity, not-done, is established as true. If you say that, even though done and not-done are contradictory, the probandum of not-done, truth, is not excluded from the sound of done. Therefore, even if the reason is not shown to be absent or not present in the dissimilar side of falsity, or a reason that specifically harms being present in the dissimilar side, one might think, how could not-done not be false? Therefore, one might doubt that the reason is also present in the dissimilar side, and merely because two pervaded things are mutually contradictory, one cannot establish that the pervader is contradictory. Because pervaded things are mutually contradictory, such as those born from effort and those not born from effort, the pervader, such as impermanence, is also seen to be the same. Therefore, even if the sounds of pervaded done and not-done are contradictory, it is possible that the pervader is either uniquely true or uniquely false, because there is no reason to prevent not-done from being without falsity, so it is merely a statement of assertion. That the reason is absent in all dissimilar sides is not established because it is not seen or not found, and it has been said before that even if that reason cannot be seen in the dissimilar side, it is possible to be mistaken, just as inferring the color from the fruit. Therefore, if the reason is absent in the dissimilar side, and there is no definite understanding established by the measure of reasoning that if the reason and the probandum are absent, it does not arise, then one will doubt the establishment of the counter-pervasion, but that cannot establish the probandum. Thus, establishing truth by not-done does not possess the three aspects. Secondly, if the proof is valid, it must possess the three aspects.
