If it is said that the argument that 'symbols are made by humans' is not established because the connection between the symbol and its meaning, such as 'it is a symbol of fire,' is not made by humans, then if that were the case, upon hearing the sound 'Agni' (अग्नि, agni, fire), even without prior knowledge or understanding that it is a symbol of fire, the sound itself should be able to understand fire by its own nature, just as a sound illuminates an object merely by the light of a candle. However, this is because one is not familiar with the language of that place, and even if all the sounds are heard, their meanings cannot be understood. Moreover, those who recite the Vedas must also learn by connecting symbols with meanings. If it were not so, then there would be no differences in languages in all places, and it would be impossible not to understand the meaning of every sound heard. If it is said that there is an innate connection between sound and meaning, so it is not made by humans, then the newly established symbol only serves to clarify the connection that already exists. If the newly established symbol performs the function of understanding meaning, then assuming that there are other innate connections becomes unnecessary and ineffective for the actual connection between sound and meaning. This is because meaning cannot be understood without establishing a symbol, and if a symbol is established, meaning can be understood even without those innate connections. Second, the general negation of the essential connection between sound and meaning. Specifically, the view that sound is permanent is unreasonable. First, the essential connection is necessary because the words of the Vedas are essentially connected to their respective meanings alone and are not related to others. For example, 'Agni' (अग्नि, agni, fire) is only related to heat and burning and does not apply to others. Therefore, humans only clarify this nature of it, and if there is no connection in meaning, humans cannot establish symbols, because everything would become a symbol for everything. If so, then those words must not be used to express meanings other than their related meanings, but that is not the case. Because in other places, sounds such as fire are also used as names for other things or as personal names, and their meanings are understood through these usages, which is evident. Furthermore, the sound 'Go' (गौ, gau, cow) can refer to many things such as cows, heaven, and vajra, which is very clear. If it is said that there is an actual connection between one sound and many meanings, then why can't one sound be used to refer to many meanings? Previously determined as one meaning...

If one acknowledges this, but then claims that it is related to multiple meanings, this is clearly contradictory. Or, a contradiction may arise. According to such an interpretation, if the sound of the Vedas can express multiple meanings, then the claim that the Vedas now expound this meaning may also express other meanings. Therefore, if one insists that things are as such, it may also become contradictory to the meaning of the Vedas. If the sound of the Vedas can express multiple meanings, then even if one thinks that the meaning of the phrase "desiring heaven, one should offer sacrifices to the fire" means pouring ghee into the fire, it could also mean "desiring heaven, one should eat dog meat." Therefore, those who, in order to prove that the sound of the Vedas, which does not specify the meaning, has the meaning of truth, and who consider it not to be man-made, will also become meaningless because of such universal investigation, because the purpose of such investigation is to prove that it has the meaning of truth, but it is not known what truth it indicates. Furthermore, if one thinks that there is a real connection between sound and meaning, then for those phenomena that appear to be different in nature from the sound expressed by the intention of human expression and external things, if one wants to establish or prove the inevitable connection between them, one must state the reason, but this is impossible. Because there is no single connection between things of different nature, and even if it arises, it is meaningless, and although the name is meaningless, it completely depends on the intention of expression, which has been proven. Therefore, names and meanings are not inherently related, but are accidental connections established by people through their minds. In this way, if one admits that the sounds of these names and words do not refer to this meaning because they have not been well agreed upon, then the sound of the Vedas will not indicate to people anything that should be accepted or rejected, and therefore it will become meaningless in any case. In order to avoid such a fault, if one admits that the meaning of the Vedas is well determined by people according to their own wishes, then such an admission is actually like an elephant taking a bath, just as an elephant returns to the mud after taking a bath, admitting that it is not man-made, that it is true, but then handing over the true meaning
