Even if it is established in this way, it is like it cannot block the cold. Therefore, what can those who only pursue sound and meaning, instead of pursuing actual effects, do by examining and studying "its nature is like this and that," and thinking that it is established in meaning? For example, for hermaphrodites, what is the use of those who desire sexual intercourse examining and studying "whether this person's appearance is good or bad"? Because it cannot achieve that purpose. Therefore, even if only the sound and meaning of "chief" etc. are established, it will not produce various changes, and examining whether it produces changes will not establish the chief with its own characteristics. Third, the master Dignāga said, "Non-observation is dharma," and said that the non-observed things such as the "chief" of the outsiders are the dharma that wants to understand the direction. Here it is said that the meaning of sound is not observed as the dharma with a basis in reality, so are these two contradictory? They are not contradictory, because these two have the same meaning. How to understand it? Just because it is the object of discriminating consciousness, the meaning of the sound of "chief" etc. is only imagined by consciousness. And it itself is not established or not observed as the basis or basis of reality, this is considered the dharma of the meaning of sound, this is what the person with the name "Dignāga the logician" said. In the outsiders, because the self-characteristic of the "chief" is not observed, the word "chief" only becomes the meaning of sound, and it is not an expression with a real cause, which is the same as expressing "rabbit horns." Therefore, sound and meaning appear in a mixed way, and when denying that it does not exist, it is not only denying sound and meaning, but through this key point, that is, the things it grasps are not established in meaning, thereby denying that meaning through the three aspects of the sign. Second, arguing about unobserved invisible things: A statement alone without valid cognition is not a proof. Accepting it is shown as a sign of foolishness. First, even if the statement alone is reversed, the meaning of the kalpa cannot be refuted. The end of showing it like that is a summary. First, examining whether the author exists and then negating, and negating all truth by one aspect of truth. First, examining statements made by humans, and made by humans.

Refutation of claiming as valid what has not been done. First, it is not certain that something done by a person is valid, and it is difficult to know the nature of an extraordinary person. First, the actual refutation and avoiding contradictions with valid cognition. First, the materialists and others say that in the case of the invisible and unobserved, the statement that "the treatise is unrelated to the meaning" is unreasonable. Because direct perception and inference are limited objects, therefore, even if they are reversed, it is not certain that the object does not exist. However, valid cognition is the object of all meanings without exception, so if valid cognition is reversed or not mentioned in valid cognition, it should be known that it does not exist. As it is said: Whatever is not taught in the Vedas, it should be known that it does not exist, there is no hearing like the Vedas. Thus, it is impossible for the treatise not to show everything that people need, because the Vedas are the object of all knowable things. So they say. In this regard, their intention is that the validity of the Vedas has been recognized as a valid cognition that does not deceive the meaning. Therefore, what is not stated in it, the claims of Buddhists and others are not established. They keep this in mind and want to independently establish sound or valid cognition as valid cognition. Also, it is impossible to find a valid cognition that shows all knowable things by means of human discrimination, because valid cognitions only show what is said in their respective occasions, and showing other things that are not needed there is irrelevant to the occasion, and it is also impossible to show everything with one valid cognition. Even if it is known by someone like the Omniscient One, who can collect it as valid cognition? Therefore, just because it is not mentioned in the treatise, it does not mean that it does not exist originally. Also, without examination, it should not be accepted as a valid cognition that does not deceive the hidden, because the reason is that if sounds and so on do not exist simultaneously with the things to be said, then there is no nature of relationship, because there may also be words with inverted meanings. Therefore, it is not certain that the sound is established as it is said, therefore, for the sounds and so on that are intended to be valid cognition, there is no certainty at all as to whether it is a valid cognition that does not deceive the meaning to be said. Those sounds and so on only become a symbol of showing what the speaker's intention is, therefore, it only expresses the meaning of how the author of the valid cognition himself measures the right and wrong, and thus only speaks with the intention to speak.
