Ma ne. Like this, the objects to be measured are extremely hidden, and the manifest and hidden things, the means to measure them are scripture, direct perception, and inference. If none of these three can measure existence or non-existence, then what cannot be measured for the time being or what has not become an object to be measured by it, cannot be definitively proven to be either existent or non-existent. Therefore, to definitively prove that there is no meat-eater here in front, if the three means of measurement, scripture, and reasoning, are not related to the context of the pure treatises, then it cannot be proven by scripture; and those past events, those that have become past events, have transcended the scope of the senses, so they cannot be measured by direct perception. Even if the past events become a valid sign of non-existence, for that person, those things that have become non-existent at that time, such as meat-eating and so on, even if the past events have not perceived their existence, how can they be definitively proven to be non-existent just because they have not been perceived? It cannot be proven. Similarly, for proving existence, one should also combine the circumstances of not having scripture, direct perception, and result signs. Therefore, since the sign of non-observation is not the result of definitively determining whether the object exists or does not exist, the past events will not become the means of valid cognition that ascertains whether the object exists or does not exist. Therefore, the reversal of these three, direct perception, inference, and scripture, is called past events. If there is valid scripture and a sign that proves existence or non-existence, then it will not become past under any circumstances.

In terms of appearance, the reasoning that it cannot be established as non-existent simply because it is not observed is a statement, but it is not that it cannot be established as non-existent because it is observable but not observed. This is done to distinguish between the two. Therefore, if the cause that can appear is not observed or known by valid cognition, then the result can be proven to be non-existent by this sign, because a result without a cause is impossible. The pervasive nature of things like trees, the pervaded object like a cypress in the subject, if the nature of the pervader is not observed, it can also be taken as a negative sign, because when the pervader disappears, the pervaded object cannot exist. If so, some arguments with the reason of not observing the related object will not understand that those related objects are non-existent. If the causes that make visible things like vases invisible, that is, the obstacles to visibility, such as invisible mantras, etc., are impossible, then the visible objects, such as vases, etc., can be definitely understood to be non-existent in that place by the sign of not observing it. If it is said that not observing the vase is obvious, and if it needs to be proven by a sign, then it is too much. In fact, it is not to prove the unobserved thing, but to let people know that if it can appear but is not observed, it should be called "definitely non-existent", this is an inference to establish the term, which will be discussed below. If it is said that even if it can appear but is not observed, there are cases where it is not called non-existent? Answer: Yes. For example, the Samkhya school believes that both cause and effect are visible, and even if the effect is not observed in the cause, it will not be called non-existent, but it is considered to exist. Therefore, this sign of being able to appear but not observed, because it shows that the non-existent thing is established as the nature of the result of the term of non-existence, so in meaning it can also be classified as a nature sign. Second, in addition, if there is something that contradicts any dharma, then it will also harm the existence of that contradictory thing, because they cannot exist simultaneously, so the sign of observing something that contradicts it is definitely a negative sign that determines that there is no contradictory thing. The second part is the elimination of debate: the debate on the case of being able to appear but not observed, and the debate on the case of not being able to appear but not observed. First, the subject of nature, etc., sound
