It is not permissible to establish existence. Alternatively, if one establishes existence merely in the sense of the word 'chief' and so on, it is not prohibited. However, if one establishes it as having its own unique characteristic, then there is no pervasion, as some other commentaries state. In this regard, the establishment of 'existence' as the reason for impermanence, the Chinese word 'bhava' (藏文) is a common term for things, existence, and substance, so translating it as 'existence' is a translation error and should be translated as 'thing'. Otherwise, 'existence' is related to impermanence, it is a subject. It should be impermanent. Because it exists. If the sign is not established, then it will become an admission that there is no connection between the sign and the dharma, and similarly, for selflessness and space, etc., and the opposite aspects, it is not possible to deny that they do not exist in name, and many such things are thrown out, and later Tibetan scholars believe that existence does not pervade impermanence. Most of the early Tibetan scholars accepted the text as it is. Thus, each of their views is merely a dispute due to the difference in the way of grasping "existence", and in fact, according to anyone's view, there is nothing wrong with the way of expression. However, the translation error is not the case, because in general, "existence" refers to things, and "non-existence" refers to non-things, just like this, the author also used such terminology, and in this case, saying whether the vase exists or not, there is no need to add the difference between things, etc., just like understanding whether its own characteristics exist or not. The existence established only by terms and names should not be regarded as the meaning of existence here. If you don't understand it this way, then no matter what scriptures you teach, you can't determine its meaning. For example, in the case of "If something exists, what will be produced?", it will also be understood as if something exists through terms and names, then what will be produced? and so on, which is too much. If there is a common vocabulary in Chinese, what is the use of translating it into Tibetan things? The author has actually defaulted to the non-pervasive cause. If there is a common vocabulary in Chinese, and it can be understood as things and existence, then why can't Tibetan? Who is prohibiting it? Therefore, words are distinguished by meaning, and not only by the way of expressing words to understand meaning. Which words are things

as stated by, etc. Furthermore, for example, in the statement "There is fire somewhere, because there is smoke," if the qualification "the self-characteristic of smoke" is not added, then according to the usage of terms, merely understanding that there is smoke, the doubt may arise, "Because there is smoke, how can it prove that there is fire somewhere?" If one must eliminate such doubts, it is too extreme. Similarly, for "what is made," one must add qualifications such as "made by a person" and "made by Ishvara" to distinguish them. When saying "what should be seen but is not seen," if someone doubts, "If it truly exists, then for the intellect that examines reality, it should be visible. Does this mean that the one who examines reality has not seen it?" If one clings to such subtle points of words, then one will never find a statement that can eliminate all disputes with a single word. If one uses a thing as a sign, then even when there is no thing, there are instances where the name "thing" is applied, such as "all phenomena are emptiness" and "knowing all knowable things," etc. In these cases, the word "thing" encompasses all phenomena of things and non-things. Furthermore, "By seeing all things as truly false, one will grasp the nature of the seen and the essence," and "The emptiness of all things is proclaimed as other things," etc. All such usages cannot be replaced by other words, and even if they were replaced, it would not be necessary. One should understand it as the speaker intended to convey the meaning. Previously, it was said, "Without relying on external objects, in whatever way the speaker determines the expression of words, that is the expression of words." Do not forget this here. Therefore, as long as there is no contradiction in meaning, arguing endlessly over mere differences in wording is like children quarreling, and one should not be too respectful of such arguments. That is, setting what does not exist as permanent, like fabricating the existence of a universal generality, if one does not merely consider it as being deluded by conceptual thought and clinging in that way, but examines the essence of things and insists that it is permanent, then one will loosen the meaning of all negations of generality and support those claims, like exhaling. Like this
