If even the determination of the contradictory can ascertain the non-existence of the object to be negated, it is because the co-existence is impossible. To dispel doubts about this: Then, can even the cause of contradiction negate? The answer is, merely stating the cause that contradicts the object to be negated does not negate, because merely being the cause of contradiction does not determine whether the object to be negated exists. If the cause of contradiction exists, it is impossible to know whether the object to be negated exists, is the reason contradiction itself? If the reason for contradiction itself does not exist, then that as an argument is false, just as pointing out firewood can prevent cold. If there is a reason, it can negate, because the result of cold is no different from fluff, etc., because of the proximity of the difference of fire. Similarly, when using the contradictory result as an argument to negate the object to be negated, it is necessary to distinguish in detail the differences in nature such as location, time, and so on, and rely on special methods of argumentation. Otherwise, if merely pointing out the result of a dharma that contradicts the object to be negated can prove that the object to be negated does not exist, it would become a fallacy, for example, using the result of fire, ashes, as an argument to prove that it is not cold or there is no cold. Therefore, even when using the contradictory result, smoke, as an argument to prevent cold, it is necessary to have three special qualities: the place pervaded by smoke, and the ability to indicate that there is fire now because it is billowing, and the nature of the intense billowing that indicates the existence of fire that can prevent cold, so that it can prevent cold in that place. Second, the refutation of the view that there are other arguments not included in those three arguments: The way other existing arguments are included here, and the way some people think are not arguments. First point: Inferring production through aggregation is the nature argument. Inferring color, etc. from taste is the result argument. First, inferring the production of a result through the aggregation of causes is neither a nature argument nor a result argument, because it is an established argument, so it is also not an unavailable argument, therefore it is not included in the three arguments. If you think so, then, if you carefully analyze inferring the production of a result through the aggregation of causes, you will find that the power of the cause does not depend on other things, because once the aggregation of causes is established, it has the nature of producing a result. For example, once a candle is

Therefore, just as self-nature is established, one should know that the dharma nature or self-nature of the aggregate of causes itself is endowed with the ability to produce effects. Therefore, this is called the sign of self-nature and is included within it. If it is not so, but it is inferred that an effect different from the cause will definitely arise, then the abilities of the aggregate of causes to produce effects are related to or dependent on complete changes in each stage. Because the cause itself does not change, the effect cannot exist. For example, when seeds, soil, water, etc., gather together, the seeds change like rotten seeds, and then gradually grow into seedlings and form stems, etc., until they finally produce fruit. Therefore, if one merely posits the aggregate of causes as a sign for the future production of effects, then it is uncertain. Because in the interval from the cause to not seeing the real effect, there may be factors that hinder the cause from arising, so it cannot become a reliable reason for definitely producing the effect. Therefore, even though the real cause definitely has the ability to produce its own effect without obstruction, if one does not take it as inferring its self-nature, then it cannot be used as a reason for inferring other effects from this cause. Because universal certainty at the final moment, etc., cannot be achieved, establishing a reason is meaningless. Because the reason infers the existence of the effect, and before that the effect itself has already manifested. For example, the fact that a bodhisattva on the eighth ground will definitely attain enlightenment is actually also an inference of the special ability of the cause. The second case is, if someone says that recognizing the shape of brown sugar, etc., from tasting the taste of brown sugar in the mouth is not included in any of the three signs. Then, the shape and tactile sensations of brown sugar, etc., which are mutually gathered in one whole and depend on each other like a spear and a house, recognizing their existence through tastes different from them, this belongs to the sign of inferring the dharma of one's own cause. For example, just as one infers the change in the color of firewood from the intensely rising smoke. Because without burning firewood, one would not see smoke, and similarly, taste without shape, etc., is impossible. The change of firewood is considered to be ashes.
