The sign is only to examine whether it is established on the subject of the dharma, and after it is established, it is to examine the pervasiveness of the subsequent occurrence and non-occurrence of the dharma to be proven and the sign. From the perspective of the dharma of the aspect, it is not necessary to grasp the meaning of the collection. To examine the edge of this, and also, the classification of the types of signs and the types of minds, it would be easier to explain separately, so it will be explained that way. When explaining the scriptures, because it is only explaining the true meaning of the scriptures, it is easy to generate wisdom, so I want to explain it that way. The so-called "that part" refers to the fact that on the subject of the dharma, there are many parts that need to be refuted or proven, and from them, choose the dharma to be proven that is suitable for the moment, such as impermanence, and the sign, such as what is made, if there is this dharma sign, then the dharma to be proven exists has a following, and if the dharma to be proven does not exist, the sign does not exist, it must be understood that the pervasiveness is determined by the valid cognition. Second, the example, the correct sign, these three are explained in detail. Make it understand, reveal the essence of the three signs. Refute other edges that are not included in it. First, any cause that produces a result, how many natures of matter need to be assembled, If any one of them does not exist, then this result will certainly not occur. Therefore, this result is the correct reason for establishing the existence of this cause. It has five types, including establishing the actual cause. The nature of any dharma that exists itself, and the essence that is essentially related is also a correct reason, such as as long as water is established, it is established as wet, as long as sound is established, it is established as impermanent and what is made, because these three have an essentially same connection in meaning. Under the interference of the illusion of other similar things appearing, in the case where it is impossible to determine as impermanent, just like establishing that sound is impermanent with the sign of what is made, this is the correct sign of nature. The two, the result and the nature, are the signs of establishment, if from the perspective of refuting the sign, it is divided into two types: the unseen that is invisible and the unseen that is visible, the first type, for the continuum of the person who has eaten meat and has passed the end of the kalpa, the valid cognition of the direct perception and inference that establishes that there must be a meat eater in this place in front of you does not exist, therefore, for the person who has not found the valid cognition that establishes that it certainly exists, this place is only non-existent or invisible, therefore

Such a sign of non-observation only indicates that the term for the existence of that thing is inconsistent, but it cannot prove that the place certainly does not exist. The need to say this is that, in order to prove that something certainly does not exist in any place, the distinction is made between things that can be observed and those that cannot, and it is shown that things that can be observed are excluded by non-observation. In order to show that things that cannot be observed cannot be excluded merely because they have not been seen, if someone thinks, are there things that cannot be observed? There are, because in terms of place, time, and nature, there are three kalpas that cannot be observed. Among them, the kalpa in terms of place is like the wish-fulfilling tree of the unpleasant sound of the north for the people of Jambudvipa, and so on. The kalpa in terms of time is like the cloud with the essence of gold that appeared when the previous kalpa was formed, and the pure land and retinue where Maitreya will come in the future, which have become the meaning of the kalpa for those who do not have clairvoyance now. The kalpa in terms of nature or form is like the flesh-eating ghost and the intermediate state for ordinary people. Therefore, this reasoning also shows that one should not judge a person's ability, nor should one slander the profound Dharma that one's own mind does not understand. Furthermore, according to the various aspects or differences of the reasoning of non-observation or negation signs, the result or function of knowing, expressing, and applying the term that certain things certainly do not exist in a certain place exists. What is it? For example, by observing the fire that is contrary to the nature of cold contact, and by observing the establishment of the fruit of fire, smoke, which is contrary to cold contact, to prevent cold contact; and by negating the result by not observing the observable cause of the negated thing, such as "there is no smoke in this direction because no fire has been observed"; and for the case where the object of negation itself is of an observable nature, to prove that it certainly does not exist by these unestablished or unobserved ways, such as "this direction, the subject, there is no pot, because it has not been observed." Therefore, the unobserved reasoning is the four ways of proving that negated things do not exist. Among them, things that are not limited by kalpas in terms of place, time, and nature can be observed, and even if they can be observed, if they are not observed, one can know that they do not exist, and one can determine that the fruit of things that do not exist also does not exist.
