With the first two verses, I express the meaning of pacifying the corners of thought, and say that the body of two wisdoms possesses the splendor of two benefits, so some consider this to be paying homage to Manjushri, and make various interpretations. However, paying homage to the wisdom body of all Buddhas who have perfected the realization of abandonment and realization, there will be no contradiction in any case, and it should be understood in this way. The second point is that nowadays, most ordinary people who claim to be scholars of both internal and external studies are attached to one-sided theories and evil deeds, and their hearts are filled with arrogance and prejudice, and because they lack the ability to realize profound wisdom, they not only do not value the excellent sayings with profound meaning such as the Compendium on Valid Cognition, but also hate those good sayings and their holders because of the defilement of jealousy. Therefore, Dharmakirti thinks that this treatise will not be beneficial to others for those who have such shortcomings as me. So, why write it? Because one's own mind has long been accustomed to and familiar with good sayings, in order to cultivate a willingness to accept them, so one likes to write such treatises, or it is said that one writes out of interest. That is to say, most people are unable to be impartial because they are attached to their own sects and hate other sects, and they lack the wisdom to realize the profound, and they do not value good sayings. Because of these reasons, even if it is not beneficial to those who have shortcomings, but on the contrary, for those who are fair, wise, and pursue the truth, it will become meaningful, just as it is said in the sutras: "The listener is called a vessel of Dharma." Moreover, the purpose of writing is not to belittle treatises such as the Compendium of Good Sayings, but to dispel great errors, so it is also written out of compassion. As it is said in the Pramāṇavārttika: "Whoever is personally accepted by the noble ones possesses glorious, stainless wisdom. The foolish wise men of the world do not understand the rough meaning of his words. It does not matter if those who rely on the world to expand are slightly destroyed by ignorance. However, out of compassion for the birth of meaninglessness, the rules of his sect are clearly shown here." The same is true. Second, regarding the content of the treatise, that is, knowing the principle of adopting and abandoning for one's own benefit.

are two branches: the branch of benefiting others and the branch of following accordingly. In the first, the valid cognition of what is to be measured, the hidden, and the valid cognition of what is to be measured, the manifest, are shown. In the first, the general characteristics of the reasoning that realizes the hidden are explained. Accomplishing the main meaning and establishing the teachings as valid. In the first, the characteristics of the sign are briefly shown, and the three correct characteristics are explained in detail. The causal relationship that determines the sign is explained. First, the sign is established as a property of the subject, and the pervasion of its object of proof is certain, that is, the property of the subject is established and the pervasion is certain. The completion of the three aspects is the correct reasoning, thus showing the nature of the reasoning. If asked, how many correct reasons are there? The answer is that it is summarized into three types: effect, nature, and non-perception. It is said that the reason it becomes a reason is that if the object to be proved does not exist, the sign will not arise, because it has been determined by valid cognition. The opposite of the fallacy of reasoning is the opposite of the relationship of not arising if it does not exist, that is, other than the incompleteness of the three aspects. That's it. Among them, what is the first of the three aspects, the "property of the subject"? Generally speaking, the sound of the subject is the dharma, and the meaning of the collection of the impermanent dharma, that is, the subject that includes the desire to know impermanence, etc., is widely known as a real name. One aspect of it, the dharma is only the dharma, and the object to be proved is only the object to be proved, and it is also used as a false name, just as one side of the cloth is burnt, it is said that the cloth is burnt, just as the name of the whole is used on one side. Moreover, the name of the side is also used on the similar side and the dissimilar side, but here, the side related to the sound of dharma among the three aspects refers to the dharma itself, just as holding a hand is widely known as an elephant. Therefore, the sign, such as having done, etc., is established on the side or the sound of the subject, or understood as being established in its dharma. Here, the side needs to be understood as the meaning of the collection, and if it is understood as only the dharma, there is an unreasonable attachment. Generally speaking, the object to be proved of a combination needs to be grasped, because it is distinguished by the object to be proved and includes the desire to know, so it is not other than the meaning of the collection, but the property of the subject in the case of the three aspects is
