If one possesses non-ignorance, what need is there to mention those who are small in wisdom and lazy? Therefore, for beings, such a well-spoken word like the author himself, it is not easy to find someone who can grasp it again after me, the author. This treatise of Dharmakīrti, like rivers flowing into the great ocean, dissolves into the body of one's own wisdom and becomes invisible and disappears, this is to show that it is difficult to understand. Second, it has the merit of being skilled in distinguishing between reason and unreason, right and wrong, and burning the thickets of the dense forest of inverted wrong views, and the correct path of reasoning spoken from the treatises of the teacher Dignāga, who was personally cared for by the noble Mañjuśrī, and this kind of treatise that illuminates like daytime, possessing a hundred merits that can clarify the light of wisdom, although those with bad wisdom like bats are afraid of this and abandon it, for those with pure eyes of wisdom, it is to make the lotus of the wise bloom, this is to make a tangible adornment by associating the five dharmas with the sun. The latter verses were added by the Tibetan translators for the sake of the auspiciousness of increasing benefits. The commentary on the Compendium on Valid Cognition, composed for the sake of others, is the fourth chapter. Fourth, the ending part has two types of colophons: the author's colophon and the translator's colophon. First, this concise commentary on the Compendium on Valid Cognition was composed by the great and incomparable scholar Dharmakīrti, who was born in the southern region, caused all bad treatises to be extremely confused, and whose good name spread throughout the earth, it is complete. Second, translated by the Indian abbot Subhūtiśrīśānti and the Tibetan translator, the monk Gelo Tsawa Gewai Lodrö, this is the colophon of the Rma translator. The colophon of the great translator Ngok Lotsawa, the one eye of the world, is: May auspicious and sacred deeds be greatly rejoiced, the supreme king, possessor of great and immaculate qualities, the one with a virtuous mind protects the earth with his power, the lord of men is urged by the command of authority, the diligent one.

Especially for the wise speaker and, the listener, the debater and the external debater to clarify the meaning, and, in order to enjoy the vast conversation feast, translate this ornament that has become the adornment of the wise in the world. This treatise that eliminates all wrong views, the non-dual, which earnestly adopts the ultimate reasoning, even though the scriptures are many, the meaning is difficult, and accomplishment is difficult, it is reasonable to strive because the fruit is great. Those who are inclined to the wrong path, although the view is like water and difficult to turn back, if it is well communicated with correct reasoning, why would it not flow into the hearts of some? Both sound and meaning are easily attained for enjoyment, well translated without being tainted by darkness, those past translators, the holy ones, only a slight taste of them remains with me now. The glorious Kashmiri logician's, the jewel on the crown, the fortunate one, having heard of one called King, the wise and virtuous one translated this. To the east of the great unparalleled city, in a place called Delightful, at the foot of what is known as a place of accomplishment. In the pure land called Utter Victory, the great Kashmiri Pandit Fortunate King and, the great Tibetan translator, the monk Lodhen Sherab, translated it. Later, the great scholar Shakya Shri Bhadra, who was unparalleled on earth, and the Shakya monk Kunga Gyaltsen Palsangpo translated, edited, and finalized it. Thus, if these things that have become the object of direct perception are determined without any error in their affirmation and negation, then one can easily enter the sacred meaning as well, otherwise, if one cannot transcend the dense thicket of inverted clinging, how can one realize the meaning that transcends direct perception, which the noble ones must realize individually with their wisdom? Because it is not the place. Therefore, one must first become skilled in the reality of things that have become its object through the gate of direct perception, and then enter the sacred meaning, as the great teacher Nagarjuna said: Without relying on conventions, one cannot realize the ultimate meaning. And as the great teacher Suredrabhadra said: Without the ladder of true conventionalities, one wants to go to the top of the true mansion

Therefore, it is not suitable for the wise." Thus, Chandrakirti said, "The conventional truth is the source of means, and the ultimate truth is the result of means." As it is said. Therefore, such a reasoning of real power can eliminate and represent the traces that surpass the worldly appearance. Therefore, it is very important for those who uphold the Shakya teachings to know it first. Whether it is explaining any scriptures of Sutra or Tantra, it is necessary to rely on the path of terms and terminology to measure the meaning without error. Therefore, it is generally indispensable for hearing and thinking. All those who seek the path with the discernment of the five-part argument, etc., are all confused by the realm of appearance. Therefore, when such a line of reasoning reveals the faults of refutation and establishment in the realm of practice of seeing this side, the experience of clearly obtaining it like something in the palm of the hand, then, the attachment to the ultimate meaning of the realm of wisdom will also disappear naturally. Moreover, the definite understanding that does not lose similarity to the suchness that transcends all realms of discrimination will naturally become upright. As the Pramāṇavārttika says: "This is the explanation of the nature of the universally conceptualized measure. Because the other is ignorant of this, he deceives the world. By practicing the wisdom arising from thought, it is extremely pure, without defilement and without contradiction, and directly realizes the ultimate measure." Also, as the Sutra of Measure says: "If one leads the Dharma-nature through the path of discrimination, then he greatly diminishes the teaching of the Victorious One. Likewise, the nature of the characteristics of the Tathagata's Dharma, if it goes to another place, should be investigated." As it is said. Its meaning is: The profound Dharma-nature is not the realm of discrimination, therefore, if one seeks the Dharma-nature only through the path of discrimination, it is to distance oneself from the teachings of the Victorious One and to diminish it. However, for those evil ones who speak falsely and differently about the intention of the Victorious One who shows the profound Dharma-nature, they should be refuted based on this. As it is said. As the Samadhiraja Sutra says: "What is protecting the Dharma? Like this, to the Buddhist Dharma
