If it does not exist from the beginning, then because there are things that are not certain to be destroyed by existence, like color on clothes. Therefore, if it is not interdependent, it contradicts certainty. Second, even if it is interdependent, it is certain to be destroyed, because destruction arises from the cause of the thing itself. If someone says: the cause that produces the thing destroys the thing, then it is not admitted that the cause that produces the thing produces the thing, but the cause that produces the thing produces the thing, and then another cause that destroys the thing passes between them, then what is the use? Because the object on which the power of the two causes acts is the thing itself, and for the thing that has already been established, there is no need to be established again, and if it has not been established, it is not a cause. If it is thought that the object to be acted upon is the thing, the cause that produces the thing produces the thing, and the cause of destruction makes it a non-thing, then the thing that has already been established cannot become a non-thing, and it is impossible for a non-thing to become a non-thing, even if it is allowed that the object to be acted upon by this cause of destruction is a non-thing, but there cannot be a cause for a non-thing, and it does nothing to the thing, therefore this is just talking casually. Then, things do not need to be produced, and non-things cannot be produced, so is it impossible for the cause of production to exist? Answer: Cause and effect are only nominal designations, but the result of the collection of causes, the momentary appearance, is undeniable. Such a thing, the present thing is the thing itself, so it does not need a cause, but this alone cannot deny the cause of production, because without the previous cause, this is impossible to arise. If it is said that the same cause producing and destroying is contradictory, therefore the cause that produces the thing produces a destruction that has turned into another thing, therefore things such as vases will be destroyed. If the cause of the vase produces the thing of the vase itself and makes it have the nature of destruction, then what unacceptable fault is seen that one admits that the destruction of another thing is produced? Because for a thing with a momentary nature, there is not the slightest contradiction between arising from a cause and not staying in the second moment. However, if it is thought that gradual arising and then destruction after it is the law of things, then, if destruction, like the heat of fire, is established in the nature of things such as vases, then one's own

Since things arising from illusion, their own nature has already been established, what other cause can help it? Nothing is needed. If destruction is not inherent in things themselves, but exists elsewhere, then the cause of destruction may help other things, but it does not help things like bottles themselves in any way, so what other cause does the thing need to rely on? Just as making a bottle does not cause a pillar to be destroyed, it is meaningless to consider the cause of the destruction of things as the cause of things, and if it is unrelated to things, then the destruction of things is meaningless. Second, things and the arguments and refutations against them. First, like the heat of fire, things are destined to be destroyed by their nature from the moment they arise, so things that do not need to rely on other causes of destruction will not be destroyed at any time, so how can they not be destroyed in the next moment? For example, things like bottles and sounds themselves gradually decay and do not need to rely on anything to stay. Second, if it is not necessary to rely on other causes of destruction, then things will not exist even for a moment? If it has never arisen in a moment, then it is unreasonable to say that something called "non-existence" will be destroyed, because something that has arisen will not stay in the second moment, and the existence of something like this is the nature of the thing itself, and if it is non-existence, how can it not stay for a moment? That should be called not born of cause. Third, for those things that have impermanence, like the heat of fire, they are completely their own nature, and do not need to rely on other causes, these things are certain to be like this as long as they exist, for example, when all the collections of causes are complete, their power becomes unstoppable, like a collection without any obstacles, which can produce its own fruit, that is, the function of producing fruit. Third, in the ending part, the way in which this treatise is difficult to understand, and if it is understood, the benefits are great. First, like this, those who are known for their wisdom and have strong thinking abilities are also unable to understand such profound Suchness, and those who work hard day and night and are extremely diligent are also unable to truly understand the decisive secrets and supreme Suchness of such a treatise.
