Since it is that time, isn't there doubt that there is no self? Therefore, pots and so on are also not established as selfless, so they will not become the opposite side. If you ask why it won't become the opposite side since the Buddha acknowledged that pots and so on are selfless, if his acknowledgement is valid, then the living body will also become selfless, so it will become the opposite side. If you say that acknowledging the living body as selfless is not valid, since the Buddha's acknowledgement is not valid, then from that perspective, the selflessness of pots and so on is also not reasonable, so how can it be determined that this is the opposite side? Therefore, it is impossible to determine whether pots and so on become the similar side or the dissimilar side, so such a reason has no definite side. Without that, how can a one-sided refutation be established? It's just talking to oneself. If the selflessness of a pot is determined by reasoning, then that reasoning should be stated. If you accept the Buddha's reasoning of examining oneness and difference to establish selflessness, then you should not say that the living body has a self. Second, uncertain, merely a reversal, causing doubt. There is no proof for a certain reversal. First, in this way, you, a logician, have said that there is no reversal of the sign without a similar instance, but this has already been refuted as very unreasonable. Even if it is allowed that there is no reversal of the sign without absence, what benefit does that have for your intention? You yourself want to establish the existence of a self and do not want selflessness, so this life that is posited as a sign, does it also reverse from the similar instance of the existence of a self? There is doubt about this, because the connection between life and self has not been seen by valid cognition. Because there is doubt as to whether it reverses from that similar instance, there is also doubt as to whether the sign reverses from the dissimilar instance, because it has not been seen as definitely established in the similar instance, so how can it be definitely established as reversing in the dissimilar instance? In this way, if it is definitely established that one of the two aggregates of self and no-self exists, then it can be established that it reverses from the other, but such a thing does not exist here. If there is no such thing that is determined by valid cognition, and the sign is merely not seen in the dissimilar instance, then since all dissimilar instances have not actually been seen, others that are not seen or do not appear to oneself...

There is doubt as to whether it exists or not. Because even if all dissimilar aspects are not seen, it is not determined by measuring that it cannot exist, and one wants to negate what appears to oneself merely because it is not seen. If so, even if life is not pervasive in all categories or clarity of selflessness, it cannot be certain that it does not exist in some things that belong to the category of selflessness, just because life is not seen in some things such as vases. For example, it is not seen that all hard things cannot be cut by swords, but although it is seen that wood and stones can be cut by swords, it is possible that hard categories such as diamonds cannot be cut. Secondly, even if vases etc. are the dissimilar side, it cannot be proved that life etc. are the opposite. If the contradiction between selflessness and the existence of life etc. is not seen in measurement, then from the doubt of whether it is opposite or not opposite from the dissimilar side, how can it become opposite? There is no reason to eliminate doubt. If the contradiction with selflessness is indirect, then in some cases, it is necessary to relate the sign to the self. What other knowledge is there other than determining that the self is the fruit of life, or determining that it is of the same nature? There is none. Since there is no such knowledge, there will also be doubt about saying that life is the opposite from the dissimilar side of selflessness. Thirdly, even if life is opposite from the side of selflessness, this does not satisfy the wish, because even if selflessness does not exist, the existence of self cannot be proved from it. What is the reason for this? Because rational people do not necessarily think that what has no opposite is necessarily real. For example, rational people think that even if signs such as life have no opposite on the similar side, it does not exist there. Therefore, although negating a direct contradiction can understand the other, even if there are no three aggregates in between, even if this person admits that there is no opposite on the similar side, since opposite and no opposite are contradictory, if there is no opposite, then two negations can understand the truth and think that existence is reasonable. Just as it is thought that this has not been proven, the existence of the self can be proved by the two negations of "selflessness does not exist."
