When considering a basis, such as sound, in isolation, establishing a dharma like momentariness, the dharma to be established appears to rely on that basis. Even if there are various other dharmas, they are not taken into consideration at that time, but are treated with indifference. When negating permanence in sound, the permanence being negated appears to be separate from the sound. Moreover, the object of negation also appears to rely on something else. Negation must be done in the mind after cutting off the object of negation. Because of the complete cutting off of the object of negation, the existence of the object of negation is completely eliminated, and the thing appears to rely on this. Therefore, other contradictory things also appear not to be negated. This is actually the way to affirm existence by establishing existence, or to negate non-existence by negating non-existence, so that such an idea arises in the mind. Therefore, for sounds that are aimed at excluding others, various terms gradually arise, and these terms can be gathered on one thing. Second, if we analyze correctly, then for the meaning of things that do not actually exist, no matter in what way, through the expression that has been passed down from beginningless time, that is, the way that consciousness itself presents, whether this presentation is true or not, without investigation, it is admitted that the basis of different meanings is only the meaning of sound, which is actually dependent on the way of worldly conventions. Even if we admit it based on the way of worldly conventions, if we analyze correctly, it will be harmed because reason cannot be established. If you think so, it is not right. Because, in the world formed by the habits of seeing and hearing from beginningless time, the meaning of the expression exists in this way, and the reason for analyzing the ultimate truth will not refute and harm it. Because, convention is only for understanding the meaning, and the understanding of the meaning is only produced by the way of appearance, consideration and mixing, which is undeniable. By this alone, the expression can be established, so even if we analyze it with the ultimate truth, it will not cause harm to it, and these expressions are used without investigation, not for the actual meaning of things, because people think so. Third, the eye faculty itself is the result of eye consciousness and is not the result of ear consciousness, while the ear faculty is the opposite.

The eye faculty and the ear faculty are different from each other. Similarly, although it is said that many different dharmas exist in one dharmata by way of excluding others, in reality, its essence is just one self-character, without any difference. However, in the face of the discriminating mind that has the object of exclusion, for the dharmata that becomes the basis of different reverses, whatever is established as the dharma to be established is like an increase; from the perspective of stating negation, the object of negation is like a decrease from that basis, having such a form. Through the increase and decrease, etc., fabricated by discrimination, the dharma and dharmata are distinguished, and there is attachment to connections such as "this is this." For some reasons, in reality, the dharmata does not possess a nature different from that dharma, but because one's own discriminating mind sees it that way, it combines them together. Therefore, know that even if these are fabricated, they are still fabricated. It is not that one does not use conventional terms, because this is the time to devote oneself to expressing based on conventional terms. For example, when saying "sound is impermanent, because it is produced," if the mind does not distinguish it like sound, the conventional term will not be established. By analogy, dharmata can also summarize the three things of form, consciousness, and non-associated formations into one concept of "thing," like a decrease. Separating multiple things from one thing, such as form, consciousness, and non-associated formations. For form, it is further divided into the five objects and the five faculties, like an increase. Even if this is done, it is only a classification and summary in the face of discrimination, not based on the exclusion of others of whether or not there is a certain result. In reality, the thing itself does not have such increase, decrease, establishment, or negation. The nature of the thing itself cannot deviate from the dharmata of its conventional term. Second, examining the basis side. It is divided into: showing the reasoning that prevents and summarizing the meaning of its establishment. The first part is divided into: the basis side itself is not established, even if the side is established, the reverse is not established, even if the reverse is established, the self is not established. First, in order to establish that a living body has a self, establishing life as the reason. Here, when examining whether the reverse exists, one must first know what the basis side of the two pervasions is, but one cannot know what the side is. Now it will be explained that: for Buddhists, it is precisely in the case where I exist that the reason for establishment is applied or established.
