This is saying that there is no subsequent inference that is established. Therefore, fame, in relation to subsequent inference, is that which has different objects. Therefore, what is different from the subsequent inference that follows the existence and non-existence of things? Fame, which does not follow by the power of the thing itself, shows that it arises merely from the wishes of individuals. Even if the dharma and the possessor of dharma are not established as different, it is like adding six words such as "having fingers", like the head of Rahu and the body of a turtle. Therefore, this cannot harm the object of subsequent inference, and if one relies on the world itself to make fame powerful, it is like saying that an impure skull is impure, thereby harming those who think it is pure. Therefore, one cannot refute others by relying on fame that does not accord with the power of things, because there is no subsequent inference. Second, explain one's own uncommon intention, and refute others' explanations. First, what other fame would one who does not accept the moon with a rabbit as the moon accept? Like this, the moon with a rabbit is most widely known as the moon, and if one does not accept this, then one does not accept anything called the moon, therefore, in order to establish that it is not the moon, whatever reason is established, it will become something that has no similar example. Because it has been promised that the moon with a rabbit is not the moon, all aspects of being the moon have been eliminated, therefore, if it exists, it becomes not the moon, therefore it itself becomes merely an aspect, and it is impossible to have any other similar example that is not the moon. Because one has wrongly entered into all fame, one should know that whatever reason is established will become uncommon, therefore it is thought that establishing existence as a reason is done as an example. Second, refute the refutation itself and the answer to it. First, some commentators on the gate of reasoning say: Because there is only one moon in the world, if it is made the subject, whatever reason is established, there is no following in the similar example, so it is thought that it was said because it becomes uncommon. It is not said that fame causes harm only because of the example of there being only one moon, but it is explained as an example to show the characteristic of generally excluding fame. The moon with a rabbit is not the moon, just as the Datrika tree is not a tree

Furthermore, fame also causes harm. Moreover, it is unreasonable to exclusively acknowledge the moon with a rabbit in the world. Because in the context of fame, it is seen in the world that camphor, silver, and Brahmins are also called moon, it is merely a conventional usage by people. For this usage, the rabbit moon is not unique, therefore nothing can be established. Secondly, refuting the opponent's answer: If it is said that in some qualities of the referent, such as the rabbit moon, the name moon is established, while other camphors etc. are named by spice makers etc., so the name moon is completely famous only for the rabbit moon, then, if it is established only for the rabbit moon, it must be due to the power of the thing itself. Like this, in the case where there is no difference in merely being called moon, the reason why the name is established only for the rabbit moon must be found through reason, not established through fame. If it is admitted that the rabbit moon is also established through fame and has no power of the thing itself, then for camphors etc. that are not rabbit moons, it is also impossible to prevent establishment through fame, therefore it is meaningless to say that there is only one thing called moon in the world. If it is said that camphors etc. also have qualities such as whiteness, coolness, and satisfaction, therefore the name moon applies to that thing, because they are similar to the moon, so it is a metaphorical name, not a real name, and the only thing that is truly famous is the moon, then, the rabbit moon is also famous because of whiteness, coolness, etc., therefore it cannot be refuted that it is a metaphorical name. If it is not like this, the rabbit moon applies directly, while other things are fictional, so it applies. Even if there is such a real name that arises only through fame, since the two are similar in fame, the name rabbit moon will not become a unique meaning. If it becomes a unique meaning, it is not merely through fame, but due to the power of the thing itself, which cannot be refuted. If it is said that even for a real name, there is no reason for the power of the thing itself, then even if the word moon for the rabbit moon is refuted, there is no fault of contradicting fame, because even if camphors etc. are called moon, they are not moon, there is only one moon, just as you have admitted, fame does not cause harm, just as you wish.
