This is such a system. Just as when understanding things based on reasons, it is only necessary to examine whether the connection between the reason and the dharma is established or not. During the process of argumentation, if other dharmas that are unrelated to this, such as the qualities of space, etc., cannot be established through this reason, or if the thing to be argued cannot be established because of contradiction, then what will happen? If there is no bow, shooting an arrow will fail because there is no range. Can one say that it fails? Like "what is made is impermanent," if it is established from the nature of things themselves, then the reason can establish the thing to be argued itself. If it is said to be a correct argument, but it is flawed because it contradicts unrelated things, then how can this argument have faults? Who can say that water is contrary to fire, therefore it cannot quench a person's thirst? Saying such a thing is simply nonsense. Like this, if all the differences belonging to the dharma of the subject can be selected and shown without omission, then, if people can infer other things without error from the sounds of other people's speech and phenomena such as smoke, through reasons (such as the other person has consciousness, there is fire, etc.), who can deny this? Because what is established by the nature of things themselves does not need to depend on others. Second, if it is established through reasoning, even if it contradicts the scriptures, there is no fault. Even if it contradicts the scriptures, it will not change the inference. Therefore, saying that it contradicts is not a fault. First, because there will be no confusion about what one wants to argue, so like self-nature impermanence, etc., and like the cause is fire, etc., when arguing through reasons such as "what is made" and "there is smoke," if someone says that this contradicts the actual situation of things, such as thinking that sound is the nature of space, or thinking that smoke can also be produced from anthills, etc., these statements are harmful, because the reason will never change its ability to establish its own related object. Just as even if one says that fire is cold, the heat will not change. If it is recognized that there is a "no birth without it" relationship between the reason and the thing to be argued, then for those who refute for other reasons, how can this argument make them understand the thing to be argued? Because it is a reason that conforms to the nature of things themselves, just as holding an oil lamp can illuminate things in a dark room.

Secondly, discussing reasoning and refuting arguments against it, first. If it is said that the opponent is being unreasonable by first accepting scriptural authority as valid and then later stating a reason that contradicts that scriptural authority, then, whether or not the reason that harms the general meaning of the scripture is stated, by the power of the thing itself, if that reason contradicts the meaning of the treatise, then what fault has the opponent committed against this treatise? The reason is not newly created to harm the treatise by the fault of the opponent stating it, but because it inherently exists as harmful. If it is said that it is not reasonable to state anything that harms the accepted treatise in any way, but the one who states a reason that contradicts the treatise is actually stating harm to the treatise, and because knowing that there is harm, great joy in the treatise will not arise, therefore the fault of those opponents is like a son exposing his father's faults. If it is said that if the opponent does not state the reason that harms the meaning of the scripture, then what is that reason?
