Even if it is not said "doing the work of...", it is thought that way in the mind. This can be understood by presenting it when asked for proof of the existence of self in debate, because that is the time for examination. Secondly, like this, the constant self's work is done by the eyes, etc. This example also has the fault of having no after-effect, just as the previous teacher Vasubandhu and others said, if the constant self with the name of a sentient being that is desired is called "other", then such a constant self is not established like the son of a barren woman, how do the eyes, etc. do its work? For example, mats, etc. have not been seen anywhere doing the work of such a self, so nothing can be established, just as it is said. In that case, that sign is a harm to such an idea, because it is impossible for the constant object that is not assembled and accumulated to do things by assembling and accumulating, because it cannot do benefit and harm, and it is contradictory. Thirdly, if it is not said to be doing the work of self itself, how can it become proof of just that? If in the case of arguing about the existence or non-existence of self, the proof of the existence of self is presented, and that proof is not what is to be proven, then what is this sign to prove? Otherwise, it will become a contradictory sign that proves what one does not want to prove, or it will only prove what has already been established, which is of no help to the idea, so it will become fruitless. How is that? The Samkhya says: Eyes, etc. are the subject, they do the work of others, because they are assembled and accumulated, like mats and beds. Thus, it is presented to the Buddhist, and if it is directly said to do the work of the constant self, it cannot be proven, so it combines false language. This person's idea is that all knowable things are only those twenty-five principles, and apart from taking the twenty-four principles such as eyes as the subject, there is no other sentient being, which is not assembled and accumulated, and the eyes, etc. are coarse things that are not assembled and accumulated from dust. In general, the example of mats, etc. giving benefits to persons, etc. other than themselves is also established in Buddhism, so pervasion is established, and the property of the subject can also be established on the eyes, etc. If that is established, it will be thought that the desired self is established. This is their idea.

Merely benefiting others by seeing things with the eyes, etc., is already established, so there is no need to prove it. Moreover, this sign is not effective in proving the subject of intention, because there is no subsequent concomitance in the example. If it is not intention, it will contradict the stated dharma. For example, intention sometimes actually is also the object of non-aggregated and non-accumulated eyes, etc., acting for the benefit of others, because it is aggregated and accumulated. Therefore, if it tends towards intention, then non-aggregated and non-accumulated, and the object that enjoys the object, The object is considered to be a person, but if this is not proven, and it is only done according to the literal meaning, then does this "non-aggregated and non-accumulated object" refer to the dharma eye, etc., linked upwards? Or does it refer to the downward link of other benefits? If it is the first case, with the eyes, etc., as the basis and non-aggregated and non-accumulated as its characteristic, then the sign "aggregated and accumulated" must be established on the dharma, so this sign will become a sign that contradicts the characteristics of the dharma. If aggregation and accumulation are taken as the basis and the eyes, etc., as the characteristics, then it will become a sign that contradicts the essence of the dharma. Even if it is not linked to the dharma to be proven, similarly, the sign understood in the manner of basis and characteristic will become a sign that contradicts the essence of the dharma and the characteristics of the dharma, because the sign itself must be established in the collective sense, so its dharma and sign will contradict each other in this way. If you think that these four distinctions can be made on the probans, even if such a conception is made, there is nothing to refute, but because the necessity is small, no distinction is made. In order to specifically point out the fault of the false statements of the Samkhya school, the distinction of contradiction is made. Second, it is the obstruction of things and the answers to them. First, through this reasoning that prevents the false statements of the Samkhya school, it also relies on the combination of the two arguments put forward by the Carvakas to prove that there is no afterlife, namely that intention has no subsequent concomitance and that it contradicts the stated dharma. For example, the Carvakas say: The pot, as a dharma, is combined with any person or pot that has not come from the afterlife, because it is not a blue lotus thing. For example, like a walled pot. Or, the body and mind are the same substance as a person and a pot.
