Explaining the nature of one's own established proposition, refuting the nature of others' established proposition. First, explain the first four modes of proof, explain the unnegated last one. First, generally explain the meaning of the four, explain the difficult-to-understand distinctions, reveal the necessity of branches, nature, classification, and summary. First, if you do not consider the established as a part of the proof, then when establishing the proof, what is the use of stating the nature of the established? Answer: When actually stating the proof, even if the established is not stated separately, it has the meaning of being understood, but here stating the nature of the established is to prevent people from being ignorant of the nature of the established. Because it is seen that some people consider the established to be and not to be, not to be and to be ignorant, in order to eliminate these ignorances, the sutra says: "Essence is only what is to be shown, self-nature, intention, and unnegated." Thus, the five natures of what is to be shown or established, namely the words "essence" and "only is", and the four words "self-nature" and "intention", sequentially reveal its four natures. What has been previously established by valid cognition has been cut off, what has not been established, although not established, but like the example, the proof is not established, it is not a part of the proof, and in the meaning of the treatise, what is temporarily to be established, and what the debater acknowledges with intention, are all distinguished and grasped by these words. That unnegated will be explained later. Here, when observing how the nature is established on what basis, the four modes of proof are explained first. Among them, there are fewer misunderstandings about the essence, and the meaning of saying "only is" can be understood by explaining the meaning of self-nature and intention in detail, so the meaning of intention and self-nature is explained specifically. Second, explain the meaning of intention, explain in detail what is said about self-nature. First, the truth and the elimination of doubts about it. First, even if the former debater does not actually state it in language, but universally thinks in his heart that it is to be established, that is, it has become the meaning of the established, so he said "intention". For example, although it is established that eyes etc. are for the benefit of others, "other" refers to oneself, just like wanting to establish it as benefiting oneself. Therefore, what is the meaning of intention?

By establishing the argument to argue, that meaning that one wants to argue, skillfully arranging the words that one wants to argue as the thesis, it will not become something else, because it is the language arranged for the sake of accomplishing the thesis that one wants to argue. Second, dispel the doubt of contradicting the scriptures, dispel the doubt of contradicting the reason. First, among them, eliminate the thought that the word "self" is meaningless and that it is inappropriate to mention the two contradictions. First, the so-called "wanting oneself" is merely what the debater himself wants to argue, so there is no distinction between the two, because the word "wanting" has cut off everything that the debater himself does not want. If it is said that the word "wanting" has already prevented all the ideas of others from being a thesis, then in the commentary of the Compendium, when explaining the meaning of the word "self-nature," although the debater is not actually wanting to argue at that time, is it like wanting to argue a part of his scriptures, will all the ideas of the author of the treatise become the debater's thesis? It dispels such doubts. Therefore, this word "self" is arranged as the meaning of the decision. In the commentary of the Compendium, it is mentioned that "self and desire change," which indicates that it is promised in relation to one's own treatise. So it is said. Second, if what the debater wants to argue is the thesis, then because the collection of what one wants to argue has only one meaning, it is argued from the aspect of the accumulation of eyes and other things that accomplish the benefit of others, sometimes it is the difference of the dharma, sometimes it is the difference of the subject (referring to things), if it is said to contradict the contradictory aspect, then it is not contradictory, because the false fabrication aspect of the Samkhya school depends on the way the language is combined, sometimes it can be combined into the difference of the dharma, sometimes it can be combined into the difference of the subject, so if it is like that, the contradiction that contradicts that is also the same way to say, because in the examples of the commentary, most of them are said to contradict the difference of the dharma. Second, dispel doubts and thereby prevent others. First, what the Samkhya wants is understood through the occasion, that wanting has unreasonable aspects, if it is not like that, then it is too much. First, if the debater does not actually promise as the thesis, but wanting to argue as the thesis contradicts the reason, then it does not contradict, because it can be known through the meaning that it has been promised. How to know? I (Tibetan: བདག,Sanskrit Devanagari: आत्म,Sanskrit Romanization: ātma,Chinese literal meaning: I)
