The power to become... truly resides in those three natures that are established in their own right. And the recollection of those three natures truly resides in the words that express those three natures themselves. Because words can conform to the state of things, causing them to appear in memory, the expression of the three natures is the means of proof, and nothing else is needed. Second, the proponent's statement and its answer. First, if the object to be proven is not indicated beforehand, then a single reason cannot be applied, because it is like shooting an arrow without a target. If it is thought that the power to establish the thesis is established even by stating the subject term, which is the object to be proven by the sign, in words, then: Second, if stating the thesis is also necessarily a part of the proof, and if it is incomplete, the thesis cannot be established, but that is not the case. For example, whatever is made is pervaded by impermanence, like a pot. Sound is also made. Like that, even if the statement "sound is impermanent" is not explicitly stated in the prior statement of pervasion, it is clear. Or, the property of the subject is stated first: sound is made. Whatever is made is pervaded by impermanence, like a pot. Or, sound is made, and everything that is made like this is impermanent. Even if the thesis is not stated by these statements, the mind will still understand that sound is destructible. If it is able to generate that understanding, what is lost by not having the thesis? What additional quality is gained by adding it? Therefore, it is not a means of proof. Even if it is said, "sound is impermanent, because it is permanent," it is established by the power of the sign, not by the statement of the thesis. Because the statement of the thesis is stated in order to understand the connection between the sign and the meaning of the collection of objects of the sign, it is the words that are transformed into the clear three aspects that accomplish the proof, and it should be known that the statement of the thesis does not provide any help. Therefore, even if the subject term is not explicitly stated, the thesis can be established by words that represent the complete three aspects, and the non-statement of the thesis does not cause any hindrance, so it is clear that it is not a means of proof, just as a rope and chisel are not needed to establish a pot.

Regarding the three ways of being able to be established, not pointing out any one of the ways, for example, considering it sufficient to establish just one of either the unestablished subject-property or pervasion, this is said to be an incomplete proof, because what is to be established cannot be established. Therefore, even if the sign possesses the three modes, it is still necessary to newly establish both the subject-property and the pervasion, because it needs to be stated from the perspective of both being complete, and through well-established establishment, it is possible to generate non-inverted wisdom. Second, regarding refuting arguments: Showing the refutation of arguments established by oneself, Refuting irrelevant argumentative responses from others. First, the way in which one has no faults in argumentation, Others will definitely fall into consequences. First, regarding the tenet of not considering the statement of what is to be established as proof, by making the statement of what is to be established the definition of a pledge, even if one says, "The definition of the subject-property pledged to be established," for the one who speaks those words, the unestablished example and sign are still to be established from the perspective of the opponent, and not establishing the meaning, therefore it is not appropriate to say that this is also a pledge or falls into the subject-property, because the unestablished sign is only considered from the perspective of proof, which is distinguished between what is to be established and the proof at that time, therefore the seeming reason is not the fault of a pledge. Or, in some cases, even if the pledge to state what is to be established is stated, it can also be explained that this is not proof. Second, even if it is said that there is no difference in the way of stating the definition of a pledge between oneself and others, for the tenet of others who consider the statement of what is to be established as proof, both of them are of the same kind as proof at that time, therefore the statement of logicians and others that "the statement of what is to be established is the definition of a pledge" will cause doubt as to whether the unestablished example and sign are also pledges. Because the pledge is also proof, therefore proof is not a pledge, and a pledge is not proof, this doubt cannot be eliminated. If so, then one will wonder what is this that is to be established? When thinking about it, one will feel that this is something that needs to be established by others, and one has not yet established it oneself, then the seeming sign is also the same as this, therefore it will also fall into the fault of the seeming sign being a pledge. Then, you will also encounter the same situation:
