If it is thought that the unestablished sign and the unestablished proponent itself are both similar in being the proponent, it is not so. It is not the same because our own system does not accept that the proponent and the proof are of the same type, and in reality, the distinction is clear, so there is no possibility of doubt arising. If it is not so, but confusion arises because other word forms are the same, then all the instances where a potter states that a pot, etc., is the proponent, it would be an overextension to establish the proponent or the proposition with a sign, but such a doubt is impossible because it is in the context of stating the argument, and in reality, the understanding that it is established by reason arises without confusion. If the proposition that is enumerated as the proof is a statement of a proposition that is truly established, then it is the proof, but what is not established cannot be the proof. Therefore, even in the systems of others who consider the proposition to be the proof, there is no fault of the unestablished reason, etc., being an overextension of the proposition, because there is no unestablished in the proposition of the proof. If you accept that, then how are the statements of the proponent now a part of the proof? If the statement of the proposition is established as mutually agreeable to both opponents, then what that was not previously established is established by stating it? Nothing can be established. For example, it would be like saying, "Form is visible" and "Sound is audible." In that case, the reason has no power other than the proposition itself, so stating it is meaningless. Furthermore, if the proposition is only true, then the apparent proposition becomes not a proposition, and its definition must also be stated separately. If it is not stated, then the apparent proposition and the apparent sign become neither the proponent nor the proof, so such an answer is of no use at all. Second, in order to refute some commentators on the "Treatise on Logic" who claim that the subject term is the proof, first, the doubt of the former is raised, and then it is said: The logician says, stating the subject term is a statement of the proof, because it must be stated at the time of establishing the opposite and its appearance, just like the statement of the sign and the example. Then, as an answer to that: If that is the case, then direct perception is also a proof.

It also becomes a verbal fallacy, because it possesses both correctness and semblance. Then the opponent argues: Direct perception is not language, but here, when the proposition is taken as proof, the proposition being expressed in language is the characteristic of proof, therefore that fallacy does not apply. If so, then the language of refutation also becomes proof, because it possesses both verbal expression and correctness and semblance. The opponent presents the subject term as proof, stating the reason for possessing a semblance of proof, i.e., the existence of correctness and semblance, and with the word "etc.," also includes the characteristic of being expressed in language as proof. The response of showing uncertainty with direct perception and refutation is irrelevant and ultimately becomes a laughingstock, because it raises an irrelevant doubt and then takes the trouble to give an irrelevant answer. Why is it said to be irrelevant? Because presenting a sign in that way is not rational itself, as has been said before in the context of refuting the Vedas. Moreover, both the opponent and the respondent assume that merely not seeing in the dissimilar side establishes the counter-pervasion, and if it possesses similarity, it is proof, which is incorrect. The proposition is the subject of the thesis, it is proof, because it is said to possess correctness and semblance. If said in this way, this sign is uncertain, because for the sake of others' subsequent
