Yes, if that is named as a causal statement, then it would become like saying "look at the deer running," which also has the aspect of other-regarding direct perception. If it is thought that the causal statement generates the direct perception of seeing the deer as a result, then mere words can never generate direct perception. If they could, then saying "white conch" to a blind person would also generate direct perception. Therefore, from words like "look at the deer running," an inference actually arises, and there is indeed the attainment of direct perception of actually seeing the deer running. However, because the inference is generated first, it is definitely called an other-regarding inference. If it is said that if stating a reason with three aspects is an other-regarding inference, then why mention one's own seeing, etc.? Initially stating one's own seeing is necessary because it has the purpose of dispelling the opponent's wrong conceptions. How so? Because the proponent himself, even if he has not seen it with a valid cognition, intends to point out and make the other party realize the object to be proven, it is established by the scriptures accepted by the other opponents or those who approve of it. Therefore, to dispel the wrong idea that some Samkhyas say that what they see is also the proof of what the proponent himself wants to prove, the words "seen by the proponent himself" are spoken. Because if one does not see that it can be a proof, then merely being known by others cannot prove anything. Also, the Samkhyas say: Intellect and happiness, the dharma, are without mind, because they are born or impermanent. For example, like the five aggregates of form, etc. After establishing this, both the reason and the dharma are accepted on the similar example by the Buddhist scriptures, and that reason, the dharma of arising and ceasing, intellect and happiness, is established in the Buddhist scriptures. And the sentient person, because he is permanent, does not have arising and ceasing, which the Samkhyas themselves admit. And they believe that such a person is the basis of bondage and liberation, and is the self that abandons and takes bodies. In this regard, if the new arising and permanent destruction of intellect and happiness are not established for the Samkhyas themselves, then merely being accepted as such by the Buddhists cannot establish that they are the dharma of arising and ceasing.

Since he himself has not seen the reason for becoming the object, it cannot become a correct argument. Even if it is established as a phenomenon of arising and ceasing, it cannot therefore prove the absence of consciousness. Because the Samkhya school merely assumes that those with consciousness do not have arising and ceasing, but this is not the case, because consciousness itself is impermanent. Therefore, such a reason cannot prove anything. But for the time being, here, from the perspective that one has not seen oneself, but only others have seen or think, it is not permissible to become one's own assumed argument, to point out the fault. Second, in order to argue the rationality that merely seeing by others cannot become an argument, there are three: summary, detailed explanation, debate, and refutation. First, if one has not seen through valid cognition, why can't it become an argument? Whatever one has not seen through valid cognition, is merely what is known in other schools, it is only what is said in the scriptures of those schools. If a valid cognition that is certain like that does not arise in one's own continuum, then it is not through the power of valid cognition that one engages in refutation and establishment, but only through scripture, which is unreasonable. Because first, after completely examining through the valid cognition of the three examinations, one affirms that that completely pure scripture is an extremely hidden and non-deceptive scripture, and then one completely accepts that scripture. Therefore, it is through subsequent inference that the scripture becomes pure, and not through the scripture that the subsequent inference becomes pure. When observing in the third object to be measured, one must rely on the pure scripture, otherwise, for the object of inference, one does not consider the words of the scripture itself to be valid cognition, just as when a person with eyes observes whether a vase exists in front of him, he does not need to rely on a yogi. If, for the object of inference, the words of the scripture itself become valid cognition, then for all the meanings spoken from various contradictory scriptures, there will be no intervention of inference that considers whether it is reasonable or unreasonable, because that meaning is established merely through words. Even so, the internal and external scriptures themselves are various meanings, if everything spoken from the scriptures is established in meaning, then truth and falsehood cannot be distinguished, therefore inference intervenes in the meaning of the scriptures. If it intervenes, then for the object of inference, merely scripture cannot become valid cognition. Second, the scriptures of others cannot establish the tenets of one's own school, if the scriptures of one's own school do not have real power, then they cannot be established. First, stating the reason and refuting that answer. First, the scriptures of the inner Buddhist path.
