If it appears as without an object of focus, how can it be asserted that it exists without focusing? Even if they exist separately without being mixed, but in reality, the aspect of consciousness appearing as such, and the external object being merely the thing itself, both of these do not need to appear separately, because they are held by one aspect of the mind, thereby becoming without difference, so when experiencing, from the appearance of blue, the appearance of grasping blue does not appear separately, if you say. It is not so, because if the mind is not confused and does not focus on differences, then those things will also become without difference. If you think that although the mind does not focus on differences, but in reality there are differences, then a man and the son of a barren woman will also exist simultaneously. Thus, if the object and the knowledge of it, the two without aspects, appear simultaneously and nakedly as objects, then why are the two appearances not seen as unmixed, like a pillar and a pot? They should be seen. If so, then the grasping of blue will also be experienced as its own nature, and will not appear as an object-possessor, but will appear as an object like blue. In this way, the object and the object-possessor are not mixed separately, and through the distinction of good understanding, the experience precedes the object and object-knowledge that do not have good understanding, how can these be separated and remembered from behind? It is impossible to remember and experience separately. If it is a separate experience, then it is also possible to remember without mixing. This is not the mind holding the object and knowledge as non-different, if so, although it is impossible to remember separately, but there is also the reason for remembering separately from one's own aspect, there is also such an explanation. Then, just as remembering blue, don't you also think that there is remembering the grasping of blue? Although that is very correct, I never think of remembering a separate object-possessor. Both the object and the object-possessor have memory, but there is no separate memory of both. Therefore, although it is said to remember the object, in reality it is only remembering the aspect of one's own mind that was previously experienced, it is impossible to experience the object nakedly, how can it be possible to remember nakedly? I do not admit that. Secondly, the experience of the object blue and the object-possessor of the object, i.e., the mind of grasping blue, etc., arise sequentially, i.e., experiencing blue and experiencing grasping blue arise alternately.

Moreover, in the system that admits it, one should know that it is not the case that only the appearance of blue arises uninterruptedly, but rather the appearance of blue must arise alternately. Therefore, if it is argued that the appearance of objects and the appearance of consciousness, both, would become the nature of various appearances, this fault is difficult to avoid. For simultaneous appearances, the appearance of objects and the appearance of consciousness are different, like blue and yellow, appearing simultaneously and arising alternately, therefore it would become appearing alternately. Therefore, when experiencing objects in this way, is the entity of the sense-fields of blue and so on, merely one aspect of it? Or is it realized as merely the nature of one experience, and the mind that appears as blue is not another mind that experiences the experience. Because from the mere appearance of blue, it is not determined that there are two objects appearing, and from the single apprehension of blue, it is not determined that there are two experiencers. Regarding the refutation of wanting to experience other simultaneous minds, although there are various ways of explaining it, this alone is the best. Before that, the master Dharmakirti himself had given an inconclusive answer to the establishment of self-awareness by means of the sign of memory. Starting from here, he clearly explained and elucidated the answer taught in the treatise of the master Dignāga. Among these, the second, regarding the establishment of the sequence of knowledge from memory: Questioning and stating the fault in it, refuting the answer to its fault. The first aspect: presenting the fault and establishing its pervasion. First, if it is seen that the previous knowledge is subsequently experienced by another knowledge, then later memory of it arises. Then, by which knowledge is that later knowledge experienced? Thus, he questions the opponent who does not admit self-awareness. In response to this, if it is said that it is also experienced by another knowledge that arises after it, then, if the minds that cognize the earlier and earlier knowledge arise like a rosary, connected one after another, then what is the object of apprehension that generates these later minds? If it is said that it is the immediately preceding mind, then all minds will only apprehend their own predecessor and will not shift to other external objects. Second, there is also pervasion for this, namely, the characteristic of the mind's own object of apprehension, that is, what has become the object of apprehension, is the immediate generator of its own predecessor.
