What I say is just a promise. Second, dispel doubts about contradicting facts and scriptures. First, if the mind cannot recognize itself and can only recognize other things, and for the continuation of recognizing things like blue, only one mind that recognizes the previous mind can recognize the previous minds, then after each mind that experiences an object, a mind that experiences it must arise, because these two minds do not arise simultaneously. Because each previous mind must have the ability to generate subsequent minds. If someone asks, why is it believed that each mind must have the ability to generate subsequent minds? If someone answers, because multiple minds simultaneously experiencing the object and the experiencer have not been seen. Then, whether the object experience and the experiencer experience exist simultaneously should be analyzed rationally according to the circumstances. Because it has not been proven that simultaneous experience does not exist, it cannot prove anything. Or, if merely not seeing is enough to negate, then should not seeing an interval also be negated? If someone thinks that even if it is not seen, after analysis, that is the case. Then, the situation of not seeing two minds simultaneously should also be analyzed, as (Tsongkhapa) said. Second, explain the meaning of the scriptures truthfully with reason. Eliminate other misconceptions. First, two consciousnesses do not arise simultaneously. Isn't it said in the Sutras, "It is impossible for two minds to arise simultaneously without before and after"? This refers to the minds of the Svatantrika school, such as the eye consciousness that recognizes blue, each previous mind must have the ability to generate subsequent minds of the same kind. But this does not mean that multiple consciousnesses of different kinds do not arise simultaneously. Because for one proximate cause, there cannot be multiple different proximate effects. Therefore, it should be correctly understood that similar conceptual thoughts arise sequentially in one's own continuum, with the previous arising before and the subsequent arising after, and it is impossible for them to arise simultaneously. Second, show the facts and their rationality. First, by showing that similar consciousnesses do not arise simultaneously, it is also clearly shown that when the king (referring to a person's name) guesser sees things through direct perception, the discriminating thought of "this is it" arises, thus also eliminating the discriminating thought in sense direct perception. This is because the king guesser believes that there is no contradiction in two similar consciousnesses arising simultaneously in the same continuum. Because direct perception and knowledg

This is because two manifest cognitions arise simultaneously. Some say that recognition is also manifest because the object appears clearly. They mistakenly believe that even the conceptualization of what is seen appears clearly. Secondly, the reason why conceptualization does not manifestly see the self-character of the former is: for things like shaved hair growing back, two eggs, candles, and twins, which are later determined to be different by valid cognition, when the conceptualization of recognition arises thinking "it is the former one," how can such a mind that mistakes difference for sameness become the manifest cognition of the former, since there is a clear appearance? It is only a delusion of conceptualization grasping as one. Because that is a delusion, from the perspective of recognition, letters and shapes, etc., are easily confused in nature from before and after, but it cannot be determined that the meaning is the same. Because for something that one has experienced before, from memory, one does not attribute the nature of the former to what is seen now, nor does one know that the former is the present one. And how could such an attribution arise from the senses? Because the former object no longer exists, and sensory consciousness cannot grasp the former and latter as one, nor can it grasp by adding names, etc. The above refutes the experience of previous knowledge due to knowledge not being simultaneous. Now, in order to refute the second simultaneous knowledge, the contradiction with the commitment in reasoning is explained. In this way, other views are also refuted. First, even if they do not occur sequentially, it cannot be said that the knowledge of sound, etc., is experienced by another knowledge that is simultaneous with it, because this contradicts both the commitment and reasoning. How so? Because your view also does not hold that experiencing things and other knowledge that experiences knowledge itself arise simultaneously, because you commit that only one consciousness arises at a time in one continuum. If analyzed with reasoning, the appearance of something like a blue object, and the appearance of the knowledge that sees it, cannot be understood or experienced separately, independently, and unmixed like blue and yellow, because no matter how unconfused wisdom analyzes, there is no independent knowledge that is unmixed with the object.
