It is never possible for oneself to generate knowledge of the general outside of the designation of "general" to aspects (rnam pa). Third, because of that reason, the appearance that appears in consciousness as something to be experienced is established as not being different from the mind that experiences it, therefore, direct perception and that is also consciousness itself, through experience, is established as self-awareness. Second, refuting the answer that others cannot experience the happiness, etc., of others' continuums. The answer to whether or not it is direct perception. Refutation of answers such as unseen, having, etc. First, if the happiness, etc., of others' continuums is apprehended and held by the minds of others, but it is not the same as one's own happiness, etc., in that it becomes direct perception, therefore it will not become a similar experience, then, according to your view, you do not admit aspects, and when taking the object, it is the same in holding the same object, and the difference between one becoming direct perception and one not being direct perception, what is the reason for that? Just like two people without eye defects focusing on the same blue color. If the object of that consciousness is not the happiness, etc., of others, then what other object is it? It will become a consciousness without an object. Second, unseen is past karma, or happiness, etc., inwardly united with me as one object, or having a relationship of sense faculties and happiness, etc., or whether the Lord is pleased or displeased, etc., if it is said that each person's experience is determined individually, and one's own happiness, etc., will not be experienced by others, then, in that case, the happiness, etc., of others that is related to others as one will not be apprehended by the other party in any way, because the karma, etc., that apprehends it is absolutely impossible. Even so, you who are without aspects must admit to focusing on the happiness, etc., of others' continuums. If you do not admit it, it will become a consciousness without an object that is self-aware. Even so, if you think that there is a difference between your own experience and the experience of others, then that kind of difference has already been refuted above, and it has already been explained in "From where does the difference in the same object come?". Second, relying on yogic direct perception to show harm. For others, state the undesired consequence, for oneself, the fault is not the same. First, state the consequence and refute that answer. First, except for the materialists and the logicians, one's own and others' schools all admit yogic direct perception.

In the tenets of those people, yogis directly experience the happiness and so on of other beings through direct perception, and the experiencer and the yogi experience the same thing without any objective aspect, so the yogi also suffers like the one who experiences the suffering of others. Secondly, if experiencing happiness and suffering requires encountering an object, such as happiness, and its object-possessing sense consciousness, but the yogi does not have the object and sense faculty gathered and encountered, then the suffering arising from the gathering of object and sense faculty is not produced for those yogis. If you say so, in your tenet that considers happiness and so on as different from consciousness itself, the very fact that consciousness itself arises as the nature of suffering is not the meaning of experiencing suffering, because you believe that one cannot experience oneself. However, since you believe that merely the arising of consciousness with suffering, which is different from consciousness itself, as its object is experiencing suffering, then what difference is there between the yogi directly perceiving it and the direct perception consciousness of the experiencer in terms of whether the object and sense faculty are gathered or not? Because both of them are merely grasping that object as it is. Secondly, you also accept yogic direct perception, so when it directly perceives it, will the experience become the same? The answer is no, in our tenet, suffering and so on that arise as the nature of consciousness itself are not experienced by self-awareness, but merely focusing on others, the object of focus is the cause of suffering and benefiting the focuser itself, and when the experiencing consciousness itself actually appears as the very nature of the suffering being experienced, that is suffering, and merely the arising of consciousness that focuses on the suffering of others is not experiencing suffering, at that time, the yogi merely focusing on the suffering of others will not fall into such suffering. Therefore, the focusing on the object of all consciousness and the experience of arising as the nature of that object are different, what is the difference? Even if it does not arise as the other nature of the object to be focused on, but arises as the same as that thing, it is called focusing on that thing, the experiencer itself appearing as the nature of what is being experienced is called experiencing its nature, for example, the hidden one where the habit of fire has not clearly awakened.
