Sakya Pandita: If consciousness has no image, then both seeing and similarity cannot be established. If the two objects seen are each considered similar, then it is as if there is no image. Anything that becomes the object of consciousness is not something seen before. Because simultaneity cannot be helpful, and the previous cause of non-simultaneity is not considered to produce a similar image in consciousness, then how can the object and the subject be called seeing? How can that consciousness determine or not determine that the two are similar? Therefore, for those who do not believe that there is similarity in consciousness, such as the Vaibhashika school, both the object and the subject will not be seen, and then how can the names of the object and the knowledge of the subject be mentioned? Because all seeing and experience are negated, anything unseen and unexperienced cannot be expressed. Therefore, if there is no image, consciousness cannot see the object; if there is no self-awareness, experience can never exist. Therefore, realizing that what is experienced is the nature of self-awareness is the ultimate key point of this treatise, and it is the gateway to introspection. Second, why is the appearance of clarity in white, etc., said to be the nature of knowledge itself? If knowledge itself completely appears as the nature of white, etc., then self-awareness is established. Because if knowledge itself does not appear as the image of white, etc., then white, etc., will also become unclear, because there is nothing else called the appearance of things other than knowledge itself appearing as white, etc. Third, by stating that knowledge does not prove itself, it will lead to the fault that all internal and external things cannot be seen, which also refutes those who say that their own consciousness is not directly perceived by themselves, such as the Vaisheshika school. Second, from experiencing inner happiness, etc., to prove self-awareness. Experiencing happiness, one's own mind is established as directly perceived. If it is not directly perceived, then it is too much. First, the proposition: experiencing happiness is self-awareness. Argue its rationality well. First, relying on the difference of the root, the object, and the inner attention, leading to the difference of small, medium, and large happiness.

and the differences of suffering, desire and non-desire, hatred and effort, etc., these manifest experiences are manifestly experienced by the self-awareness that arises as the very nature of mind, not that happiness etc. is different from this, that is, anything that becomes another consciousness, even if it is not observed or realized by valid cognition, but the experience of happiness etc. is undeniable, therefore it is established that the mind itself experiences. Second, it is absurd that one's own happiness and suffering are experienced by others. Yogis can also experience the happiness of others, etc. First, present the absurdity and block the answers. First, the way in which reality and absurdity are established. First, if happiness etc. is not experienced as the nature of consciousness, but is cognized by another consciousness that is different in meaning from happiness etc. itself, then other people should also enjoy it, because happiness etc. is only the objective condition for generating consciousness, therefore others can also apprehend it. Second, if arising appearance is established as consciousness, then it is established; otherwise, it is absurd that all objects are not experienced. Therefore, it is established that all appearances are consciousness. First, if happiness etc. is produced by this, and the mind that manifests happiness etc. is the consciousness that cognizes happiness etc., without these two, then it is not said that it cognizes it by this, therefore it is thought that there is no such thing as happiness etc. in the continuum of others, so it is not experience, then, by making the happiness and suffering of others as the object and apprehending it, in the mind of other people, these two, arising from this and appearing, are certainly present, because it is the mind that arises from this and appears. Second, if the mind that grasps by making the happiness etc. of others as the object is not born from the happiness etc. of the other party, nor is it endowed with appearance, then such a mind will become one that has no object different from itself, and if so, then the possession of characteristics and self-awareness will be established. Those who say that the other party is without characteristics say: It will not become without an object, even if it does not grasp the self-characteristic of the happiness etc. in the continuum of others, it is grasping the general characteristic. If it is said that it does not grasp happiness etc., then it does not grasp its general characteristic either, because the independent general characteristic is not a thing that produces the function of generating consciousness, which has also been said in the previous seven proofs etc. Therefore, the general characteristic is the
