It is merely the appearance of clear awareness and wisdom, and since neither the apprehended nor the apprehender are established, it is established as the self-awareness of two emptinesses in reality. Furthermore, according to the Ornament tradition, the emptiness of the Middle Way, Yogacara, and Sravaka schools is taught in sequence with three verses such as "things exist separately," and this is also the view. Others, relying on the establishment of self-awareness that is empty of the apprehended and the apprehender, also consider the intention of this treatise to be like the false-aspectarian of the Mind-Only school. In this regard, since this treatise mainly shows the valid cognition that examines conventional terms, when explaining the aspect of appearance as a means, only the two-emptiness consciousness is established as the basis and source of appearance of samsara and nirvana, so only that is emphasized, and the presentation of the tenets of the Mind-Only school is clearly shown, which is clear in the treatise itself and cannot be denied. Even within that Mind-Only, no one disagrees that the two-emptiness consciousness is established in ultimate truth, so merely establishing two emptinesses does not establish it as a false-aspectarian. The difference between true and false aspects is only that, in the context of conventional terms, there is a difference in whether or not the consciousness with dualistic appearance is considered to have aspects, and it is not appropriate to experience it as aspectless in conventional terms, so this treatise considers it to have aspects, namely: "Completely excluding, the inner is like the outer, This existence is another part." And: "If it is not different from consciousness, How can it follow another meaning?" And: "If the general characteristic is the nature of consciousness, It would be the meaning itself, which would be a fault. Since it is accepted as such, there is no fault." And: "Because of the certainty of simultaneous focus, Blue and that mind are not different minds." Etc., are all clarified in every chapter of the treatise. Thus, the teacher Dignaga (Phyogs kyi glang po) also said: "The nature of inner knowable things, Whatever appears like the outer realm, Is the meaning, because it is the nature of consciousness." There are three views on those who have aspects, and there is no fault in conventional terms. What comes about through the power of things is that the number of apprehended and apprehender are equal, because it has already been explained elsewhere, so I will not elaborate here. Whatever consciousness experiences how various things of self-characterized objects appear, it experiences them as they are, namely: if one focuses on the appearance of a single blue object, it appears as blue, and if one focuses on the appearance of the five senses, it appears as the five senses, etc., all are one mind.

Because various things appear simultaneously in a suitable place, the aspects of the mind are diverse, but they also become the essence of a single clear and knowing consciousness. Therefore, one should not say that the mind does not have various aspects, but rather that the various aspects are not different from the single clear and knowing nature of the mind. Therefore, it is very reasonable to say that one mind appears as many. Temporarily, it can be compared to sense consciousness, but in reality, all appearances of the body are considered as mind-only, and this should be understood in this way. Second, establishing faults and eliminating uncertainty. First, the mind of various appearances is one. Just as it is acceptable, if external things such as the colors of a calico cloth are of a single indivisible nature with parts, then for one consciousness, the apprehended aspects are diverse and inseparable, and they should also be inseparable from one and without distinction. But when blue obscures, it does not obscure others, and when blue is seen, others are not seen, etc. In generating self-grasping consciousness, it always seems to rely on definite and distinct characteristics, just as one consciousness grasps various things, one object does not produce various things, so there is harm. Second, in allowing the refutation of the answer to eliminate harm, the opponent says that what can be distinguished is the part, not the whole with parts. Then, the parts with distinct differences that can be distinguished, if each one is eliminated, then the other whole with parts that cannot be distinguished and has no difference, because it is not seen, is like a flower in the sky. Under the permission to prevent establishment, the opponent says that if there is no whole with parts, then the parts are scattered and there is no difference from uncontrollable dust particles, so it should not appear as the object of the senses. If according to your view, each of the different things such as the senses, objects, self, and mind cannot produce sense consciousness individually, but just as you think that they can produce it when they are assembled, many dust particles assemble and produce a visible difference, and at the same time become the cause of sense consciousness, what contradiction is there? There will be none. If you say that the senses and mind are causes, not apprehended objects, so they are not the same, and that dust particles are causes, but the apprehended object is the part
