To say there is no self-awareness is like holding something in your hand and saying, "I didn't take it," denying the manifest, such a blatant lie is unsightly even in the world, let alone for those who speak of reason. Therefore, one cannot say such a thing. Merely this undeniable term of seeing and experiencing, if examined with the ultimate truth as taught in the Madhyamaka school, cannot be established, and this is the same for other-awareness. If that is the case, then that experience of perceiving form, according to your saying that all consciousnesses are conceptual, how can it be non-conceptual? It will definitely become conceptual. Second, refuting self-experience and other-experience. First, if that experience of perceiving form is oneself experiencing oneself, then according to your view, both of those are also conceptual, and since it is impossible to see two conceptualizations simultaneously, it is impossible to experience it that way. Second, simultaneous and non-simultaneous. First, having shown that two conceptualizations cannot occur simultaneously, this also shows that another consciousness simultaneous with the consciousness of perceiving form does not experience it, because it is impossible for two conceptualizations to arise simultaneously in the mindstream of one person. Furthermore, even if we allow for no conceptualization, if it is experienced by others, it will become endless, which will be explained in detail below. Second, if that experience of perceiving form is neither experienced by oneself nor by another consciousness simultaneous with oneself, but is merely a recollection of the past, then it is unreasonable to say that one will later recall the past without having experienced the object. For how can recollection arise for something that has never been experienced before? Because there is nothing to recall. If one can recall without experiencing, then one would recall everything. Then, how are past Chakravartins and Buddhas recalled? Such a thing should not be called recollection, but rather a conceptualization of past objects. Such a thing also exists for future objects. Although at times all past conceptualizations are called recollection, what is said here is different from the recollection of one's own experience, and it should be understood as merely applying a general name to a specific thing. Even though the object is a past object, there is no difference, but objects that one has previously experienced can now be recalled.
