It is not reasonable to make distinctions based on the power of the ground (ས་པོ) in any way. Because, without relying on the thing itself, but according to the speaker's intention, whatever name is initially applied to the object of conception, that very name, merely by being known as such, becomes the real name of that object of expression. And later, for a thing that is similar to the previously known thing, to give and call it by the previous name is common, that is, a nominal name. These are not based on the reason of the thing, but on the intention of expression. For example, even for an existing thing, because it does not have great ability to accomplish things, it is given the name of non-existence, just as considering a bad son as having no son, which is evident. Second, the fact that something is known by a certain name is not due to the power of the thing itself, but follows the name that is given. And that name does not depend on the thing, but follows the intention of the person who gives the name. If it is not based on the reason of the thing, why give a name? It is merely done for the purpose of making terms later. For example, even though names such as "garland of flowers" are given to the arrangement of heavy and light letters, it is not necessary to actually hold a garland of flowers. For the part of sound, that is, the letters that are part of nature and condition, there are subject, name, condition, and each of these has many different ways of giving names, but all of these are not purely nominal names, and it is not that each name has a different meaning. For example, even for a single "si" (སི) letter, even though we say condition, case, first case, condition of case, singular of first case, etc., although they give different understandings, it is not necessary for each angle to have a different object of expression. Second, refuting the views of others, that is, the combination of things, and establishing one's own view: sound is used to exclude other objects of expression, and that itself is the way to become an object of expression. First, the outsiders say: If, like this, there is no discrimination of the combination of things when seeing things, then when seeing white and black cows, they will not be considered as the same kind. Because there is no category, sound will not understand the self-character. Even without a category, they can be considered as the same kind.

Knowledge arises. Although the appearances are different, due to the nature of the object itself that appears, and due to the similarity of form, etc., the cause of generating a consciousness similar to the previously seen object, that is, the object of apprehension, how does the object appear to the subject consciousness? To understand it in this way is its nature. Therefore, although the appearances are different, through the similarity, they are not different, but of the same kind, and are also the cause of the general grasping consciousness of understanding. For example, the root consciousness of the subject-object pot-grasping, although the respective self-characteristics of the subject-object are different, but like the former, because they are the same on the subject-object of the pot, the pot-grasping consciousness is called the same kind, and the cause of generating knowledge is the nature of the object, as previously explained in detail. Therefore, the fruitlessness of that meaning, that is, not that, completely separated or merely excluding others, is the consequence of all differences, but there is no single general object that follows. Excluding others exists on the appearing objects, therefore, a single hearing that exists in common on the object is the boundary of excluding others, that is, it ultimately belongs to it. Then, touching the exclusion of others of the object, the sound will express the self-characteristic. If so, the previously distinguished image is said to be the object of expression of the sound, and it is meaningless to say that the self-characteristic is not the object of expression. In this way, the self-characteristic of the external object, which is able to realize the meaning, although there is no direct contact with the matter of distinguishing non-self-characteristics, the expressing sound seems to be related to the distinguishing image that appears as the object of expression. The distinguishing appearance is mixed with those who ultimately belong to the exclusion of others of the self-characteristic, and is related due to attachment, therefore, the sound understands the self-characteristic because it ultimately belongs to the exclusion of others of the meaning, so hearing or sound excludes others from the object of expression, or expresses the exclusion of others of the meaning. Second, if you distinguish appearance and speculation, then it is not a real thing. Mixing appearance and speculation, then it can be expressed. First, things like pots, etc., are different from all other things by their own nature, therefore, when you see it, it also appears as a unique nature. How
