I must also understand as much as possible, as stated earlier, that things that do not possess the enhancing condition cannot be realized. Second, in refuting the conceptual thoughts of distinction, refute the view that meaning combination is conceptual thought, and refute the view that sound combination is conceptual thought. The first part contains three aspects: refutation, establishment, and meaning summary. The first part contains establishing the reason and establishing the subject property. The first part contains establishing pervasion and establishing the reason. First, the so-called meaning combination conceptual thought generally refers to grasping meaning by differentiating it through meaning. Among them, differentiating through different dharmas, such as differentiating through a stick, thereby grasping the one who holds the stick; differentiating through non-difference, such as grasping the kind of cow, and grasping the object differentiated by qualities such as white and actions such as walking. Furthermore, externalists believe that when seeing clear things, their kinds, etc., are also grasped by sense consciousness. However, grasping by combining the kind and the object possessing the kind is conceptual thought, and sense consciousness does not possess this ability. Therefore, to prove this, one must grasp four dharmas in order to grasp through any difference in meaning. This includes the dharma that distinguishes, such as white; and the basis of distinction on which it relies, such as the cow; and the relationship between these two; and the naming of them, that is, the rules of the world, such as cognitive expressions such as "cow" and "white," must also be grasped, and they must be summarized into a whole in the mind. Therefore, to recognize it in a differentiated way, like "a cow with a white color," one can never recognize it in any other way without grasping any of them. For example, just like "the one who holds the stick." Second, after establishing the pervasion that meaning combination conceptual thought must be mutually combined to be recognized, to prove that it does not exist in seeing. In the distinction of kind, action, quality, etc., since it is impossible to distinguish by seeing a way that is different from the object possessing the kind, therefore, combining the kind, etc., with that object, thinking "it possesses the kind, etc." is not present in seeing. Therefore, this sense consciousness does not possess the subtle conceptual thought of meaning combination such as kind. Even if one sees a person and a stick, a cow's horns and ears, etc., one only sees the state of things that have not been divided, which is not meaning combination conceptual thought, because the object

It is merely an appearance. Moreover, for a complete object that appears without any difference, there is no appearance, and merely appearing as having parts is just the appearance of that very object. Until they are combined as the basis and qualities of difference, no conceptualization of this and that arises. Secondly, in establishing the subject-property of the root reason established in this way, it is harmed by other accepted tenets. These cannot be established by direct perception. For those, it cannot be established by fame. Similarly, there is no inference either. Firstly, the fact that a genus is not cognized as distinct from the genus-possessor is not established, because it is established by the measure of a common concomitance. If you say that it exists in reality, the way in which no measure that establishes it can exist is first refuted by acceptance. Whatever is the aspect of the consciousness that is the object of the general that follows many clear things, it also appears as the sound of the name of that clear thing, and the color and shape of that clear thing. That is not the general that you desire, because you call what is empty of color, shape, and the form of letters the general of a cow or the cow itself, because you accept the general as permanent, one, and partless. Therefore, having abandoned the general imputed to the aspect of consciousness, there is not even a little bit of a thing called "following," and that is not a general. Secondly, no combination, the otherness of the genus is not established. Also, whatever combines by aggregation. Firstly, if what appears in the object of conception is said to be the general that has become the same for all clear things. Even if that is so, that itself only appears in the face of conception, but is not seen in the object of the eye and so on. If the eye sees that general in the form of otherness from the clear, then both of those would have to appear as the object of the senses, but the two that appear in the object of the senses do not exist, because it is established by direct perception. Because the two objects do not appear, therefore, on the sense-consciousness of the object-possessor, the otherness of the mind that grasps the genus and the genus-possessor is difficult to find no matter how one examines it, like the mind of cloth on a pillar. Secondly, on the object of the senses, those two do not appear as other, because they have been made one by combining and aggregating. Even if those two do not appear as other, if the sense sees the relationship of "this is this," then the combination and aggregation themselves would have to be grasped by the sense, but the sense grasps
