If the mind is completely attached to something like beauty, then it will not be attached to things like sounds that are close to it. This is because of the excessive attachment to that form, which causes the mind that generates the consciousness that clings to other things like sounds to immediately lose its ability as a condition, and therefore it does not cling. It is meaningless to say that this fault only exists in the way that multiple consciousnesses arise simultaneously. Even if you think that consciousness arises sequentially, you should consider why, when things are close, the five consciousnesses do not cling sequentially, but only cling to one. Therefore, the argument exists for both opponents, but I will avoid this fault. Second, refuting the example. Following the rapid movement of rotating torches and sticks, etc., because it is controlled by the rapid movement, the damaged eye faculty, due to the cause of illusion, acts as the dominant condition, resulting in the illusion of a continuous circle. For example, just as the power of being on a boat causes the damaged eye faculty to see mountains moving, this is an illusion, and it appears clearly like two moons. The appearance of the circle is seen directly, and it is not that the appearance of the circle is due to connecting what is seen sequentially before and after with knowledge, because seeing sequentially means that there is only one at a time, so it is impossible to have a clear appearance at the same time. It is just recalling past experiences and then concluding, "This is it." Second, refuting the views of other commentators. Refuting the view that cognition born from the senses and without conceptualization is a reason. In this way, other views are also refuted. First, some of the commentators of the Abhidharmasamuccaya, such as Lokanatha, say that because it is born from the senses, and because it enters in the manner of experience, as included by the word "etc.," and because it is not born from the mind, the sense consciousness of the elderly is non-conceptual, like the consciousness of a child. Moreover, in order to prevent the example from becoming an empty subject, they say that the reason why a child's consciousness is non-conceptual is that they do not understand signs, that is, they do not recognize signs. According to their view, just because they do not understand signs, they think that there is no conceptualization, therefore all of the child's consciousness will become non-conceptual direct perception.

If you think so, because the cause of language is separated from the previously generated conceptual thought, even if this child later becomes an old person, he will not have the conceptual thought of expression. The cause of language is the conceptual thought that can be mixed, and if these do not exist in their continuum, then later they will not understand the language, because without any memory or expectation, merely looking at the present object, it will become a pure perception. Therefore, even children have the intention to manifest food and relatives, etc., that they have not seen with their own eyes, so that is conceptual thought. The other party says: If the consciousness that is not familiar with language can judge the object, then it is also believed that the child will later generate the conceptual thought with language, because such consciousness is the cause. If the consciousness that is not familiar with language in childhood, like becoming a conceptual thought with language in old age, then the consciousness born from the root will also become a conceptual thought in old age. Or, just as there is a conceptual thought that can be mixed with sound in childhood, even if the child's root consciousness does not understand language, there is conceptual thought, because there is no obstacle shown, so nothing can be established. Therefore, this sign as a root-born, and the absence of special concomitance with the object to be established, and in the dissimilar aspect, having conceptual thought, because there is damage of sign reversal, it cannot be established, therefore such a sign is also uncertain. If it is said that root-born is non-conceptual, because it has the object of self-character, or because it is an empty consciousness that holds the before and after as one, then just as non-conceptual is established on the child's root consciousness, it should also be said in this case when non-conceptual is established on the old man's root consciousness, because the root consciousness of the old man and the child are the same without difference in the difficulty of establishing non-conceptual. Therefore, it is not possible to establish non-conceptual merely because the child does not understand the language. Second, with the reason that merely root-born cannot establish non-conceptual, it is also explained that entering through experience and not being mind-born, etc., are the same, because everything else is the same. Just like that, root-born will also change. Just like that, experience will also change. This transformation can be established, other mind
