If the self-sufficient one has the power to mix all actions into one and exhaust them, does it mix with experiencing suffering, or does it mix with the state of experiencing happiness? If it is the former, if all actions are mixed into one and exhausted, then can all actions be abandoned by just a little suffering or a few afflictions, like plucking a hair? If it is the latter, then all actions would be abandoned without any ascetic suffering or afflictions. If it is said that without afflictions it is not asceticism, so abandoning actions through it is meaningless, then is the suffering of asceticism an affliction or suffering like ordinary people experiencing suffering? If it is thought that asceticism is different from afflictions or suffering that has become the result of karma, because it is entered into under the control of desire, then this contradicts saying that without afflictions it is not asceticism, and there would also be happy asceticism, and it would fall into the extreme of being able to completely abandon without afflictions. If it is said that it is indeed the nature of affliction or suffering, then just as ordinary people experience suffering due to karma, the suffering of asceticism is also the result of previous karma, so this asceticism will not mix the power of previous different karmas, nor will it exhaust them, etc., because it is only the self-result arising from one karma, just as a wheat sprout does not mix the power of different seeds such as grains. In short, whether asceticism is happiness or suffering, in the view that all things arise from karma, it cannot transcend the result of previous karma, and it can only exhaust as much of the previous result as it experiences, but it cannot exhaust all others. This is not the same as our own tradition of the fast of the Meaning-Lock, etc., we do not think that all actions will be exhausted by that much, and even experiencing a small amount of suffering can purify the suffering of hell, etc., because by thinking about special methods, the future to be experienced is blocked, and all ways such as confessing sins are the same as this, not just through the power of asceticism such as not eating. Therefore, the mind itself is the most important, and the asceticism of the body alone is not the most important. The opponent says: You have admitted that you cannot abandon actions, but you also say that abandoning craving abandons actions.
