It should be known as such. Then, if it is said that there is no need to show examples of two kinds of examples, it is because, taking examples as examples, such as impermanence and what is made, it explains how its nature exists in other things of the same category of impermanence, and how it does not exist in the different category of permanence. Also, for the opponents who do not understand that fire is the entity of the cause of smoke, it is only to show the way of pervasion and return by relying on the multitude and the ocean, but not to establish pervasion by the power of examples. Therefore, for the skilled opponents, it is not necessary to determine on the example, it is enough to state only the reason. Since it is necessary to show examples for those who do not know, but it is not necessary for the skilled, therefore, if one can know the relationship between the sign and the property, then, by actually stating any of the two ways of following and reversing pervasion, one can understand through meaning, and even if the other is not said, a correct memory of its certainty will arise. Therefore, correct reasons reveal what is not known, and awaken the memory of what is already known, so for the skilled, it is enough to state only the property, and for those who have already determined the property, both pervasion, and in general, even if the relationship is determined but the pervasion is not remembered, or for those who strongly insist on the reason of foolishness or error, by proving each point in detail, the true meaning can be achieved by the path of valid cognition. Secondly, through its power, one can also understand the way of connection of refutation signs, because the connection of sign and property is not confused, therefore, because of the lack of cause like fire, and the lack of pervasive nature like wood, establishing or refuting the lack of things like smoke and shapa can also become a reason, not only can the connection be established, but the disappearance of the object of connection can also prevent the companion of the connection. Similarly, if it exists, it should be visible, or if observation is reasonable, then non-observation is also a correct refutation sign, and the term without it is called the sign of establishment. Thus, this non-observation can actually be summarized into three types: cause, pervasive, and nature non-observation, and it is said that all observations that contradict this are actually no different from the non-observation of the nature of what is to be refuted, so they can be summarized here. Even so, if divided in detail

There are various ways, namely the three of cause, pervasive, and nature not being observed, and the three that contradict these three. And as stated by "etc.," the effect that contradicts nature is observed, and the effect that contradicts the cause is observed, making a total of eight. These are all because one's own essence or connection is not understood or not observed, and the distinction of observing the contradictory while not understanding is merely a subtle difference in the way the combination is arranged, but in essence, the key lies in negating the very thing that is to be negated as non-existent. Among them, the cause not being observed is like: "There is no smoke in this place, because there is no fire." Similarly, apply "in this place" to all situations. The pervasive not being observed is like: "There is no bark, because there is no tree." The nature not being observed is like: "There is no smoke, because the visible is not observed." The contradictory to the cause being observed is like: "There is no cold-induced bristling of hair, because it is close to the fire." The contradictory to the pervasive being observed is like: "There is no sensation of moisture, because there is fire." The contradictory to the nature being observed is like: "There is no sensation of cold, because there is fire." The effect contradictory to the nature being observed is like: "There is no sensation of cold, because there is a strong rising of smoke." The effect contradictory to the cause being observed is like: "There is no cold-induced bristling of hair, because it is suppressed by the strong rising of smoke," and so on. Even for the contradictory flame of incense, in its pervasive aspect, because the existence of cold sensation cannot be known, if its essence or the characteristics of the effect are grasped, there will be no such mistake. Thus, the four that were previously explained are here explained as eight merely through the classification of combinations. In the *Tattvanirnaya*, on top of that, it is said that there are ten by adding: "The unobstructed causal power of smoke does not exist, because there is no smoke," such as the effect not being observed, and "The unobstructed causal power of cold does not exist, because there is fire," such as the contradictory to the effect being observed. Among them, the nature not being observed is when one's own essence is not observed. The three of cause, pervasive, and effect not being observed are when the place of connection is not observed, and the remaining six are when the contradictory is observed. In the *Hetubindu*, on top of that, it is said that there are eleven by adding the observed pervasion of the contradictory, namely, "It is not established that a thing that has arisen will necessarily perish, because it depends on other causes," which is about destruction.
