Having veiled the sun-face of wisdom, the tumult of various delusions constantly rages. Those who wish to know the innate nature of reality, lacking the key points of methods and instructions for settling, follow after intellectual words, seeking the essence. Searching, they do not find it, like trying to grasp the sky with their hands. Without being tainted by the conceptual thoughts that follow the three times, resting without artifice, even when the lama gives instructions, in a state of utter bewilderment, with conceptual thoughts, they obscure their own eyes and wander in darkness. Now, relying solely on the lama's instructions, taking faith as the essence, look at the natural, vast, and unconfined state of your own mind, free from the defilements of intellect. If you have reached the key point of the meaning lineage instructions, what use are words? What is there to accomplish through effort? What is there to meditate on with consciousness? Like the sky, without beginning or end, possessing its own clarity, brightness, and freedom from impurity, the wisdom of luminosity, uncompounded, is seen at this time when the blessings of the meaning lineage are transferred. When you have certainty, free from doubt, about the nature of mind, unmade, your own self-nature, it cannot be accurately represented by the path of expression. The nature of reality arises spontaneously from its own key point. The self-shining radiance of luminosity, without cessation, is clearly distinct, without being limited to this or that. Primordially self-perfected, it has abandoned the characteristics of change and transformation. I and mine are without distinction, abiding in equality. The meaning of luminosity, uninterrupted in the three times, this very nature that abides naturally from the beginning, cannot be accomplished through new efforts, and what need is there to bring forth clarity and radiance during meditation? In this, there is not even a particle, not even the slightest atom, of clinging to I and mine. Because it is pure like space, the great emptiness from the beginning, there is nothing to be made manifest or ceased. If you deliberately grasp at the thought that it is emptiness, all meditation that analyzes and modifies vanishes like drawing a picture in the sky. Therefore, there is no clinging to any of the four extremes. Although the term "union of emptiness and awareness" is not inconsistent with the meaning, when the union is experienced nakedly, it transcends the mind and is merely a matter of individual self-knowing. When you see the meaning of self-awareness, innate and natural, it expands like the sky, without abiding or non-abiding. Phenomena, both real and unreal, are like the traces in space. There is no right or wrong, no addition or subtraction, no doubt. Although it has always been like this, ordinary people are not so.

What need to say, even the Mahayana proponents are like that. It is difficult to see the treasure under the house of the poor. The Guru's oral instructions are found in the path itself. Emaho! In a long kalpa, the depths of the two accumulations of the ocean. After surpassing, diligent effort is meaningless, like a wish-fulfilling jewel. The definitive meaning of giving effortlessly into the hand. These days, there are many who deceive the profound oral instructions. Those with great fortune who wish to enter the supreme state. Those intelligent ones who wish to enter easily. The essence of Dharma, the secret of one's own mind. Resolve this profound meaning thoroughly. Eighty-four thousand collections of Dharma, even if mastered. But the ultimate thing to be realized is only this much. The great glorious one who controls the life of samsara and nirvana. This is the definitive view of realizing that intention. Thus, without seeing the face of the dualistic appearance of other lineages. Even without touching the teachings of words. But from the face of the self-aware Manjushri Youth. It arises in a state of non-grasping. On the thirtieth day of the second month of the Fire Monkey year, in Achieved Deathless Supreme Bliss Island, during the break of the retreat, from the mind-sky of Manjushri's joy, self-appearance, auspiciousness! The Middle Meaning of Mind. The innate vehicle, the unmade, vast sound. When will the Guru's oral instructions be seen in the path? Words cannot express, each knows for themselves. No need for effort, the clinging of thoughts disappears. Originally spontaneously accomplished, luminosity is continuous. When meditating, what need is there to bring out clarity? Originally empty, like the sky, naturally abiding. What need is there to fabricate emptiness? Not thinking, thinking nine thoughts, the mind's discrimination. Not making, making nine, hundreds of fabricated views and meditations. The self-born awareness is like the sky. Like a painted picture, it is not stained. Emaho! That very meaning of the Dharma-nature, which is inconceivable. Not accomplished by the path, not expressed by scripture. Without touching the fabrication of consciousness. It is very wonderful that it arises from the key point of Dharma-nature. Like the sky pervaded by the light of the sun. This uncompounded awareness of emptiness and clarity. That which has become the essence of Dharma in Dharma. It is said to be the essence of Manjushri Youth. Holding a red-yellow sword, one holds to Manjushri. The child who holds sees the magical display of Manjushri. The supreme intelligent one realizes hundreds of magical displays of samsara and nirvana. The one who shows is realized as the very nature of Manjushri. The marks of body and speech are not
