That which is empty and clear, like a spotless sky, is an inconceivable time, called the Dharmakaya free from three-fourths. Moreover, there are no phenomena to be distinguished, such as forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and tactile objects. If one focuses on the nature of mere knowing, it is only nominally so. But in the ultimate sense, if knowing is said to be related to a phenomenon, then what kind of knowing is there in that nature which is not related to any phenomenon? There is nothing to focus on. It cannot be said that it is merely clarity. Clarity refers to the light of a lamp and the clarity of knowing in relation to a phenomenon. The former is form, while the latter is related to other phenomena and is not its own nature. Therefore, one should examine with various skillful means to fill the false holes of existence. However, in the oral instructions of the lama, it is said: Does it remain merely as knowing? Or does a definite understanding arise, such as clarity and dwelling in this place? Merely staring intently at the object of focus will dissolve it. Although it may seem not to dissolve for a while, it is because one does not know how to look or the time is short. If one has the key point, it is impossible for the nature not to dissolve, so it is important to become familiar with its oral instructions. Thus, all that is focused on as the phenomena of things is emptiness. It is not that it has moved from the nature of emptiness and appeared as something separate, but it is self-luminous by its own nature. Even when it is clear, it is empty. While being empty, it is clear. Even in the state of clarity or non-clarity, the arising or non-arising of thoughts, the nature does not change even slightly. When considering that which is clear and the unobstructed power and compassion that pervade all of samsara and nirvana, the nature that transcends the realm of expression, can such a nature be measured by conceptual mind, saying it is non-existent? Saying it is existent? Are appearance and emptiness contradictory? Or saying that both sides are present? How can such faults contaminate or not contaminate is wondrous. So it is. The benefit of abiding in such a heart essence is that even at the time when one cannot determine whether it exists or not when examining, it eliminates the thought that it is impossible for wisdom to be neither existent nor non-existent, and the nature of mind is exemplified by metaphors that are in accordance with wisdom. If one realizes the reason for such examination and abiding, then at that very moment, the awareness of wisdom itself arising is inherent in the one who looks at it. Wondrous.

Oh, this is a praise of the sound of mind itself. Second, the way other paths cannot see wisdom. Some consider emptiness to be good, and existence to be bad, and place great importance on negation. The Blessed One said: It is better to abide in the view of the aggregates as a mountain than to fall into nihilism. Some, because they were previously accustomed to the attachment to permanence, cling to the existing dharma as permanent. The Blessed One said: If there is a more excellent dharma than the supreme nirvana, it should also be regarded as like an illusion or a dream. This is what he actually taught. What is the use of emptiness fabricated by conceptual thought? What has appearance done? Those are all fabricated by conceptual thought. Although it is said that appearance and emptiness are non-dual, who is that single essence that holds appearance and emptiness as one? Therefore, what should be cultivated, or what is the basis? Protect the way your own natural mind is. In such a state of wisdom, if emptiness becomes one-sided, it will lead to confusion. In general, emptiness that destroys the clinging to reality is the only door to seeing wisdom. If you think it is something to be abandoned, then you are deceived by the demon. At the time of introducing the nature of such a mind, the individual who becomes a vessel for the teachings, according to the difference between the superior, middling, and inferior faculties, or the order of the middling and inferior, or those with sharp faculties all at once, just by introducing it, without relying on practice and conduct, can realize it all at once. The wisdom that transcends the mind, without having to search for it outside of one's own mind, can see the state of self-abiding and self-knowing. Therefore, if one can first stop the true establishment of the appearance of objects and then enter the mind, it is also very great. Even if one does not understand anything, if one grasps the correct way of training the mind, through the oral instructions of the guru, according to the difference of karma and faculties, there may be early or late in seeing wisdom, but there is no difference in connecting with wisdom at all times. Because seeing wisdom is a very great path, if one sees wisdom, all internal and external things will be gathered into suchness from the self-nature of wisdom, so even if one does not have extensive learning and contemplation, it is not that there is no way to enter. Therefore, this path of practicing yoga with focused mind on the nature of mind is the unparalleled characteristic of Mahamudra and Dzogchen. Entering that path
