Their bodies will become vessels capable of absorbing essence. Then, the essence should be consumed; if the essence can dissolve a thousand iron pieces, or increase a hundredfold to dissolve a million iron pieces, and similarly, from dissolving a hundred thousand to dissolving ten million, it should be understood in that way. At various times of each day, it should be consumed daily. What is the measure? That which can dissolve a thousand iron pieces is about the size of a barley grain each day, that which can dissolve a hundred thousand is about the size of a white mustard seed, and finally, that which can dissolve ten million is the size of a hair tip. To consume the essence, it is best to reside in a mansion or an earthen house, where there is no cold, wind, or heat. Thus, consuming the medium essence that can dissolve a thousand iron pieces, for six months will make the body of a god free from white hair and wrinkles. Another accomplished essence, which will be described later, its essence can transform one into the body of a god within a single day. If the essence is not digested, the medicine for it is: that called Bandha Katakoti (བནྡྷ་ཀཏྐོ༷་ཊི༷་, बन्धकत्कोटि, bandhakatkoti, Bandha Katakoti), the seedless Kadamba, as well as Devadali, and the three Gapi Pos, which are the three hot medicines, as well as Prihati, and the leaves of Nimba, and that called Kirata, the Ti from Mon country; these should be boiled in water until only one-eighth remains, and then drunk. The procedure for examining meat for consumption, as well as other foods, is the same for practitioners. So, why eat poison and drink poisonous water? Just like the branches of the prickly chaff flower, which in some places is also called sosocha, and the twining plants, etc., if any of these are eaten, they will cause a very strong fainting, similar to poison. If these all become essence, then they are the best medicine. Therefore, take the roots, leaves, flowers, fruits, and bark of those plants that cause fainting, similar to poison, that is, all five parts, grind them into a very fine powder, and then mix these powders with a little butter and honey, and consume them daily. The remaining part is like the previous procedure. To be clear, it must be known that what humans and livestock and other beings eat, if it does not cause fainting, then it is not a medicine that brings accomplishment. For those beings, what brings death and extreme fear will become the nectar that brings accomplishment for yogis, which is achieved through the power of mantras and meditation. Now, other methods of refining essence are described. “Daṇḍodpala” refers to the staff-shaped utpala, which has white and red varieties, and its juice is taken. And Sālovarṇī refers to the juice of the leaves of the sal tree, and aquatic utpala and sāri, referring to the essence's own nature and the juice of the petals. Mix mercury and musk, place them in a magnetic iron vessel, and crush them with an iron pestle for three days. If someone consumes it for six months, daily in the amount of a quarter of a ṭaṅka, or six parts of gold, or the amount equivalent to a bean māṣaka, then he will be liberated from diseases such as leprosy, free from aging problems such as white hair and wrinkles, and will become a youthful figure of sixteen years old. Now, the medicines accomplished by killing mercury are described. Here, if someone wants to collect and kill mercury, then they should look for these medicines. Pokkāṇa refers to resin, and if it is applied to a blue thread, the thread will turn white, and if it is applied to a container, the mercury will be bound. Barsnang refers to the sky, that is, the excrement of the bird Beruṇḍa.
