It is especially good for activities that are in harmony with the elements, which is discussed elsewhere. Here, as stated in the Kalachakra Root Tantra: "A ku ha ḥka arises from the throat, the nature of vowels and consonants, the friend of emptiness, wind, etc., always abides therein." As it is said, the letter A represents long and short A, as well as separation and nasal sounds. The letter KU, according to grammar, when combined with the letter U, represents the groups of letters, here referring to the five letters ka kha ga gha nga. Finally, ha, which belongs to the guttural sounds, and ḥka, which is a lingual root sound, all of these arise from the middle of the throat among the five places of sound production. Such characteristics of vowels and consonants are the emptiness of the space element, and also the friend of the four elements of wind, etc., and always abide therein. Understand it in this way. I cu ya sha arises from the palate, the nature of vowels and consonants, truly arises from the wind element, and is the enemy of those born from water. Ṝ ṭu ra ṣa arises from the crown of the head, the nature of vowels and consonants, truly arises from the fire element, and is the enemy of those born from earth. U pu va arises from the lips, the nature of vowels and consonants, truly arises from the water element, and is the enemy of those born from fire. Ḷ tu la sa arises from the teeth, the nature of vowels and consonants, truly arises from the earth element, and is the enemy of those born from wind. Fire is always a friend of wind, because usually earth and water have no power. Wind is a friend of fire, because usually earth has no power. Earth is a friend of water, because usually fire has no power. Water is a friend of earth, because usually it is wind. Even if the letter Om (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡) of the mantra of the deity to be recited is omitted, the first letter of the mantra is the heart of all mantras. From this, the form of the deity is the cause of perfection, which is the seed syllable. When the first letter of the mantra has other consonants stacked on it, then in order to pronounce the upper letter first, the first one should be taken from those letters. By distinguishing vowels and consonants, enemies and friends will become two forms. Like Te-ga, the enemies and friends of life, and also the enemies and friends of the body, should be spoken of. What is that?
