From the twelve precious channels, five each branch out, these sixty channels' root system, called the wheel of karma, is said to have power over taking and going. At each of the major joints of the hands and feet, from each of the five sets of channels, six each branch out, so each major joint's wheel becomes thirty channel petals, resulting in three hundred and sixty channel petals. The root system of the major joints' channels goes to the fingers and toes of the hands and feet, becoming the channel petals of the minor joints. Specifically, the root system of the thirty channels of the channel wheel between the right shoulder and upper arm goes to the five lower finger joints of the right hand, so each finger joint has six channels each, resulting in thirty channels in the lower row of finger joints. Similarly, the upper arm near the upper arm, which is the forearm, the channel root system of the right elbow joint between the two branches out into the thirty channel petals of the middle finger joints of the right hand. The channel root system of the thirty channels of the right wrist joint goes to the thirty channels at the tips of the fingers of the right hand. This method should be understood by analogy for the left hand and both feet as well. The sixty minor finger joints of the hands and feet also have three hundred and sixty channel petals. Therefore, the wheels of the major joints of the hands and feet are the basis for taking and going actions, and are called the wheel of karma. The channel wheels of the finger joints are called the wheel of action, as they perform the actions of taking and so on. Thus, from the joints of karma and action, the channels of the two sets of three hundred and sixty channel petals are such that in the one thousand and eighty days of three years, there is a peak day, and every three days a channel is shed. When a channel of a major joint is shed, a channel of a finger joint related to it, as described above, will also be shed together. The six joints of the foot have one hundred and eighty vessels, which are the main deity or the superior deity. Similarly, the hip joint of the right foot is the Kṛttikā month, the left foot is the Citrā month, the knee joint of the right foot is the Pleiades month, the left foot is the Rohiṇī month, the ankle joint of the right foot is the Orionis month, and the ankle joint of the left foot is the thirtieth day of the Ghaṇṭā month. The six joints of the foot have one hundred and eighty vessels. All these vessels do not belong to the number of seventy-two thousand vessels, so it is different from the statement that seventy-two thousand vessels are cut off two each day. Then, from which vessels are these seventy-two thousand vessels divided? As stated in the Explanatory Tantra Vajra Garland, they are divided from the vessels of the heart. Each of the eight petals of the heart vessels divides into three vessels through which semen, dust, and wind flow, so there are twenty-four. Each of these twenty-four divides into three, so there are seventy-two. Each of these seventy-two divides into one thousand, so there are seventy-two thousand. Among them, twenty-four thousand vessels flow out semen, and similarly, the flow of dust and I should be calculated in the same way, as the predecessors said. Having explained the method of cutting off the umbilical vessel and its branches in three years, now is the method of cutting off vowel letters and vessels in three months: From the three vessels of the forehead, throat, and heart, the twenty-eight vessels of the thirty-two constellation vessels of the throat, except for the four empty vessels, are discarded sequentially in the moon day by day during the forty-five days of the three months, that is, with fifty-six and a quarter hours as a day, discarded in one month, discarding the nature of twenty-eight long and short vowels. Similarly, the vessel located in the bindu of the forehead, which has the nature of fourteen extremely long vowels, is discarded in the month. The so-called planetary vessel refers to the eight vessels of the heart, which are discarded in eight days. The thirty consonant vessels located in the secret place are discarded in thirty days with the wisdom part of one thousand and twenty-five death days. Thus, these eighty vessels, forty-five days and the last thirty days, a total of seventy-five days, that is, cut off during the eighty days calculated with fifty-six and a quarter hours as a day.
