These are referred to by those names (referring to the names mentioned earlier). The veins of the forehead are referred to by the names of the sixteen days (of the lunar month). The four petals of the crown chakra are referred to by the names of the four time divisions, with the distinction of those four themselves. Those four themselves are: the wise consider the four themselves to be self, deity, mantra, and wisdom, but it is also acceptable to explain them as emptiness and great emptiness, etc. These petals of the throat and forehead should first be recognized as having eight petals inside. Thus, the eight petals of the forehead, throat, heart, and navel are, in order, the nature of earth, water, fire, and wind. The four petals of the crown chakra are the nature of emptiness. The four petals inside the navel are the nature of wisdom. Among the thirty-two secret vein petals, the sixteen outer petals are the veins of the sixteen vowels. The ten inner petals are the veins of the five aggregates and the five elements. The six inside them are the six parts of emptiness that stop the wind of the six chakras. Thus, the number of veins in the six chakras is one hundred and fifty-six, as explained in the fifty-seventh verse, etc. This is a definite explanation of the six chakras, and this also goes like a detailed explanation of the six chakras that have been discussed earlier in the seventh abode section. Now, the way in which the five mandalas descend from the two nostrils is also a part of the eighth abode section. Here, whichever nostril the breath flows from, whether the left or right, the inner part of the nostril is divided into four directions and a central five parts, and what flows at the base of the nostril, below or towards the lips, is the earth's om (Tibetan: ཨ,Sanskrit Devanagari: अ,Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A). Similarly, on the left, what flows towards the bridge pillar in the center of the nose is the wind of water. On the right, what flows in the part of the nostril on the cheek side, towards the outer bulge of the two noses, which is called the bird's wing, is the wind of fire that consumes food, and they flow very strongly. Here, regarding the way the terms left and right are used, the central pillar of the nose is the center of both noses, like Mount Meru. According to the reasoning that Mount Meru is said to be located north of all directions, the direction of the pillar is considered north and left, regardless of whether one looks at the left or right nostril. The back of the nose is considered south and right. Therefore, the pillar between the two nostrils

On the surface (of the nostrils), both water airs circulate. Above the openings of both nostrils, the air of the wind element circulates. In the center of the four directions of the two nostrils, the subtle changes of space and the minor elements circulate at the juncture of change, and the equalizing wisdom wind descends intensely. From where? From these two nostrils, through the order of generation and absorption of the mandala of the five minor element changes. Here, before each major change is completed, the winds of the five minor element changes descend continuously in either the right or left nostril, and do not shift to the other. Moreover, these wheels of life wind arise upwards from within in a manner of gradual excavation. For example, in the navel chakra are the club and house, in the heart chakra is the measure of time, in the throat chakra are the constellations, on the forehead are the numerical dates, and in the crown chakra are the distinctions of circulation by intervals of time, circulating and excavating from within the right Roma and the left Kyangma, and descending from the nostrils with the distinctions of the five mandalas. Then, where does the wind channel that circulates in the central channel circulate? The breath's power enters within, and the equalizing wisdom wind is that which goes or descends to the supreme place, the central channel, and circulates from there. Avadhuti, when all circulation of wind ceases there, it is called the supreme place because of the arising of the great bliss of no object. Here, the lamas also explain that by training the power of life with the six-limbed yoga, one goes to the supreme place of unchanging bliss. How far does the wind of the five mandalas that circulates in the nostrils travel outwards? It should be known that it travels to the extent of twelve fingers, and to the extent of having the number of sixteen parts. The earth wind travels twelve fingers outward from the nostrils and then returns inward. Similarly, the water wind thirteen fingers, the fire wind fourteen fingers, the wind of wind fifteen fingers, and the empty space wind travels sixteen fingers outward and then returns inward. The wisdom wind is the same as the measure of that minor element's realm to whatever extent it circulates at the end of that minor element change. When it circulates far outwards, it becomes short inwards. When it circulates sixteen fingers outwards, due to the power of the wind channel, at the navel
