It cannot be destroyed. Here is a summary; the details should be understood from the vast teachings of the Buddha's words, the treatises of the Middle Way, and the tantras of the Secret Mantra. Thus it is said. Now, regarding the Buddhist heretics, that is, those who speak of entities, who cling to their own views as true and do not understand the realm of activity of the profound wisdom of the noble ones, refuting the views of those who do not allow children to grasp the profound meaning by taking it to the side of others. Among these are three refutations: of the Vaibhashikas, the Sautrantikas, and the Vijnanavadins. First, regarding the Vaibhashikas, such as the Sthavira Nikaya, those who say that there is a "person of that very nature" or "self" that cannot be said to be either permanent or impermanent, and that it exists or abides in the body, their own doctrinal nature is unbearable to examine, and therefore it is not correct. How is it unbearable to examine? If it belongs to the category of person, and abides in the body that is born in samsara, is it conscious or unconscious? If it is the former, then it is impermanent, because after its pot-consciousness ceases, it must successively generate consciousness of cloth and so on. If it is unconscious, then it will not know the feeling of pleasure and pain. The Blessed One said that there is a person who bears the burden, but I do not say that it is permanent or impermanent. The meaning of this will be explained in the chapter on wisdom. Here, the two schools of meaning-speakers assert the truth of their doctrine based solely on the conventional truths that appear in the world. They say that the body of wisdom of the Buddha, which transcends the momentary impermanent consciousness and the material phenomena composed of particles, does not exist in any way. Because they do not understand the ultimate truth, they believe that non-dual wisdom and great permanence do not exist, like the son of a barren woman. They also believe that consciousness grasps external objects such as blue, and that both matter and consciousness are real. Regarding this, the internal divisions are the Vaibhashikas and the Sautrantikas. The following verses reveal the key points of their asserted doctrines: The same content, without any difference in words, appears in both Arya Deva's Compendium of Wisdom Essence and Manjushri Kirti's Brief Exposition of the Essentials of One's Own View, written by the Kulika king. Jetari's commentary on the Sugata doctrine is also similar to it.

I will quote those words here again: Space and cessation, the two, The three unconditioned are permanent. All conditioned things are momentary, Empty of self and without a maker. The mind born from the senses, without aspects, Directly knows the accumulation of subtle particles. The Kashmiri treatises are like a water treasury, The treatises of the Vaibhashikas are transformed. This is the view of the Vaibhashikas of Kashmir, who are the main proponents among the proponents of the Vaibhashika school, namely: the unconditioned is a substance that is permanent in the three times, all conditioned things are impermanent and momentary, and things are empty of a self of a person and without a maker such as Ishvara. The mind born from the senses directly knows the meaning of the accumulation of subtle particles of objects such as form, without aspects, nakedly and directly. Thus, those who follow the treatise "Great Vaibhasha" and establish a school are called Vaibhashikas. The term "water treasury" refers to the great treatises of the Vaibhashikas, like a water treasury, as asserted in the treatises of the Kashmiri Vaibhashikas. Or, if another quote from Yeshe Nyingpo is cited: "The so-called intelligent ones, in Kashmir, are said to be in the treatises of the Vaibhashikas." From this, it is known that there is no term "water treasury." Second, the view of the Sutrantikas is: Cognition arises with aspects, The object of the senses is not the appearance. Space is like the child of a barren woman, Cessation is like space. Conditioned things are not material, The three times have no concomitance, Form without obstruction does not exist. Thus, it is known by the Sutrantikas. As it is said, sense consciousness is with aspects, arising with the aspect of an object, and not without aspects. The object of the sense consciousness, the apprehended object, is not that the appearance itself appears directly as the object of the senses and consciousness arises, but rather, through the power of the combination of the previous object and sense, consciousness arises in the aspect of the later object. Space is merely a designation for the cessation of contact and obstruction, and therefore has no substance, like the child of a barren woman. The two cessations, both conditioned and unconditioned, are like space, with no other substance of essence other than the absence of an object to be ceased. Non-associated formations, such as attainment, are not merely imputed to the state of matter and consciousness, but there is no existence at all as a material substance.
