It is for the sake of recitation. If the Vedas were not limited to Brahmins but were universally accessible, then why wouldn't other castes also become reciters, since there would be no distinction? Even so, since the Shudras and other castes are not universally accessible, it is believed that these people do not recite or write these Vedas. Therefore, for those who possess wisdom and are skilled in the Dharma, the Vedas will not, in any way, become a valid means of cognition that does not confuse the meaning, because they are the words of self-righteous Brahmins, tainted with various kinds of intellectual corruptions. In the commentary, it says: "Here, the Vedas are established by a condensed reasoning, and the details should be learned from the treatises on epistemology. This is the definitive understanding of Manjushri." Thus it is said. Having stated the refutation of the Vedic proponents, an examination of the Ishvara's (自在天) view: If there is only one Ishvara who is the creator of all the worlds, then that Ishvara would also become the enjoyer of the fruits of beings' good and bad deeds, and others who are not the creators would not enjoy the fruits of karma. If the one who performs the karma does not enjoy the fruits of the karma, but another who is not the creator enjoys it, then the cause and effect would be extremely confused. For example, if a person eats a lot of salty food, the one who eats it does not become thirsty, but another who did not eat it dies of thirst; another gets sick without being poisoned; another's body becomes strong without drinking nectar. Just as it is impossible in any way. Also, just as making a pot makes the potter the maker, if the maker is established in dependence on karma, then if the fruits of karma do not ripen for the Ishvara who does everything, how can they ripen for other sentient beings? It is not reasonable. If Ishvara is not the doer of good and bad deeds, but the generator or combiner of the aggregates and elements of sentient beings, and the good and bad deeds done by those sentient beings created by him ripen on themselves individually, then that Ishvara is the doer of all things at all times and places.
