Furthermore, virtuous deeds and merits, as well as non-virtuous deeds and sins, are of six kinds. Among these six, life, time, and space are considered to be constant, while the other three are regarded as impermanent. Time, as it is called, is an existent entity, for the aggregates also arise from time. Time gathers beings and also separates them. Time awakens those who are asleep, therefore time is extremely difficult to surpass. Thus it is said. In general, all phenomena are constant from the perspective of substance and impermanent from the perspective of nomenclature. Similarly, phenomena are one from the perspective of their own nature and many from the perspective of names or forms. Establishing with nine statements means that all knowable things are summarized by nine meanings of words, and by this, one's own tenets are established or proven. These nine meanings of words are: life, non-life, defilement, restraint, accumulation, bondage, liberation, going, and coming. This is how it is stated in the commentaries. However, what is stated in the root verses and commentaries of the "Compendium of the Essence of Valid Cognition" and what is stated here differ slightly in the way they are counted. Among these, life is considered synonymous with "self." Life is a part of the six bodies, that is, a part of the body of earth, similarly, a part of the body of water, fire, and wind, a part of the body of the lord of the forest, and a part of the body of grains. These six divisions refer to the fact that life exists as a part of these six bodies. According to their view, the four elements have tactile sensations, etc., therefore they have bodies, so they have life. Trees grow when watered or when they hear thunder, therefore they have senses such as hearing. If trees are cut down, they wither, therefore the lord of the forest or trees have life. If grains are sown, they grow, and if they are burned, they are cut off, therefore grains have life. Because they do not have all the senses like sentient beings, they are called a part. Apart from the part that has life, there are five other bodies that have life, namely, the bodies of humans and animals, etc., who feed on coarse food, the light bodies of the gods of the form realm, the bodies of the formless realm, which are of the nature of mind, and the bodies of hell beings, etc., which are born miraculously.

The body of earth and the borderland is the body at the time of liberation. These are all living beings, and they are also the five bases for establishing a person. Other than that, sounds, smells, tastes, light, sky, rainbows, etc. are not living beings. Here, some people say that the body of self-nature refers to the six bodies of earth, etc., but it is a repetition of the previous ones, and they think that it is not good to connect it with the body of form and the formless body, but this statement seems to be very good. Leakage (ཟག་པ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: āsrava, Sanskrit Romanization: asrava, Chinese literal meaning: outflow) refers to afflictions and bad karma that cause wandering in samsara. Preventing leakage (ཟག་པ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: āsrava, Sanskrit Romanization: asrava, Chinese literal meaning: outflow) is called discipline, and discipline is divided into five fasts and five precepts. The first is to abandon killing and not harm other beings, because even if you don't realize it yourself, there will be guilt for stepping on and killing under your feet, so you worry about touching it and tie small bells on your feet, etc., and because you worry that blowing fire will cause living beings to capsize and die, so you abandon these, etc. Being very cautious about harming life is the first. The second is to abandon lying and speak the truth even if it is harmful to others. The third is to abandon not giving, even if you are thirsty, you will not drink water if others do not give it, etc. The fourth is to abandon non-celibacy and practice celibacy with those who follow the path. The fifth is to abandon everything you own, not even holding clothes. The five precepts are abandoning the body's evildoing, such as being naked, is the discipline of conduct, not speaking or abandoning the evildoing of language is the discipline of language, being content with just begging for a living, abandoning the search for various gains is the discipline of pure living, not abandoning the previous promises or not wasting the discipline of begging for alms, or as it is said in "Tsami" and "Change Increase" that accepting is discipline, then begging for alms is also only accepting the part that sustains life, and not accepting the excess is also discipline. The discipline of near dwelling refers to, it is also said that it refers to the symbols of the naked sect, holding dusters and pills, etc. As it is said in "Tsami", near dwelling is discipline, it is also said that it refers to preventing accumulation. In "Change Increase", as the discipline of placing emptiness appears, then it means not even holding the pubic wrap, although the previous teachers said so, but as it is said in the naked sect's own scriptures, having mindfulness and being equipped for asceticism and discipline
