The two-combined period with two combinations is passing. Thus, on the twelve-spoked wheel of the land of karma, in those places where the Buddha's Dharma enters, due to the influence of the entry and decline of the Buddha's teachings, the division of boundaries is established, and these four periods cycle, with each period covering three parts. This way of cycling can be explained as the powerful caste holder, the Wheel King himself appearing as twelve parts and cycling, and similarly, the way the Buddha's teachings cycle in twelve continents. However, there are more explanations about the powerful caste holder, the Wheel King himself. Thus, the number of years for these four periods is twenty-one thousand six hundred, which is for all continents. The number of each of the four periods in each part is the hundred years multiplied by time and arrow, which is fifty-four. That is, five thousand four hundred years. The twelfth abode, abiding with the nature of the measure of day and night, etc., by extremely subtle breaths, etc., is explained by the twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth verses, such as subtle breath (Tibetan: ཕྲ་དབུགས་, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: , Chinese literal meaning: subtle breath). This explains how time is divided. That is, subtle breath (Tibetan: ཕྲ་དབུགས་, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: , Chinese literal meaning: subtle breath), dhru (Tibetan: དྷྲུ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: dhru, Chinese literal meaning: fixed) for hours and days, and the four periods are twenty-one thousand and six hundred, etc., which are the basis for calculating each day and night. These are, in order, the measure of a day and night for subtle bodies, humans and sentient beings, gods and asuras, and power and sovereignty. If we explain its meaning, dividing one human breath into twenty-one thousand six hundred parts, one part is called subtle breath (Tibetan: ཕྲ་དབུགས་, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: , Chinese literal meaning: subtle breath). This is the breath of the subtle human body. Thus, a pair of exhaling and inhaling is divided in this way. Six subtle breaths (Tibetan: ཕྲ་དབུགས་, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: , Chinese literal meaning: subtle breath) are one chusong for each of the body-born insects, etc. Sixty chusongs are one hour. Sixty hours are their day and night. Therefore, since there are twenty-one thousand six hundred subtle breaths (Tibetan: ཕྲ་དབུགས་, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: , Chinese literal meaning: subtle breath), one human breath is their day and night. People are each of the twenty thousand

dhru(དྷྲུ་)是指能顶替人一年的一次呼吸。

It is universally known that one thousand six hundred is one day. Dhru is the name given to thirty human breaths counted as one breath. Six such breaths, measured by water clocks and the like, make one day, which is thirty human days, and is one day for beings such as pretas (hungry ghosts). This is also one day where the fifteen dark days of humans are their daytime, and the fifteen bright days are their nighttime. This is also called the ancestors of pretas and the miserly. One hour is three hundred and sixty human breaths, which is one breath for the short-lived desire realm gods. Thus, in this way, three thousand six hundred human years is one day for the desire realm gods. Similarly, a day and night is twenty-one thousand six hundred human breaths, which is one breath for the asuras. The upper commentary states that the years of the gods are sixty years of the asuras. Dhru is one breath that can substitute for one human year. By "substitute" it means those born in Akanistha (highest pure abode) of the form realm. Here, saying the breath of Akanistha does not mean they actually have breathing in and out, but rather it is explaining the right to calculate lifespan from the measure of breath. This is what is said in the early commentaries. Thus, twenty-one thousand six hundred years is one day of substitution. The four times refer to the measure of the four times of the teachings, and twenty-one thousand six hundred years is the measure of one breath of the chief. The chief refers to those in the peak of existence. Thus, each of them counts their own twenty-one thousand six hundred breaths as their own day and night. For the lands of karma, the four times of the wheel-possessors are the measure of one day of substitution and the measure of one breath of the chief. The speaker who divides the land into pieces and bestows the state of peace, the wheel-possessor proceeds, and in one day and night of substitution, abides in the twelve suns that destroy the darkness of ignorance. Thus, in each part, the path of merit and wisdom is fully shown, and as the daytime of the Dharma, the twelve suns of the Dharma's wheel-turning king each appear, with one thousand eight hundred breaths of ability or one thousand eight hundred human years, each part turns the wheel once.
