Although nothing is established in its essence, the appearance is unobstructed in any way, like an illusion. If examined, it cannot be expressed in terms of either existence or non-existence. Because it is naturally invisible and luminous, it does not abide in anything, whether visible or invisible. One's own mind, which is inherently luminous, is now, in the direct awareness, where all phenomena of samsara and nirvana become equal. Therefore, the mind of the Teacher, Shakyamuni Buddha, and one's own mind are determined to be inseparable in the state of self-arisen wisdom of mind itself. Without straying from that, and having confidence and certainty there, one realizes the suchness of one's own mind. There is nothing else called Buddha other than that. For such a meaning, there is no death or birth; death and so on are merely conceptual thoughts. In the original meaning of mind itself, free from conceptual thoughts, if one abides in the state where neither birth nor death is established, and transfers in that state, then the illusions of the bardo will not arise, and one will be born in the pure land of the Buddha. If such confidence is lacking, then at the time of death and in the bardo, if one does not forget to remember the Lama Shakyamuni Buddha, then by that alone one will exhale one's last breath in the pure realm. Furthermore, whatever fear and suffering may arise in this life, if one remembers the Buddha, one will surely be liberated from those declines. Whatever happiness and goodness may arise, know that it is the compassion of the Buddha, and visualize those objects of happiness as clouds of Samantabhadra's offerings, and offer them to the Buddha. Also, constantly contemplate the meaning of the three aspects of liberation and the six perfections, etc., which arise from the Teacher's teachings. Generate the supreme bodhicitta with great compassion for all sentient beings, and train in the conduct of a bodhisattva as much as possible. Therefore, remembering the Teacher is extremely important, as remembering the Buddha is the beginning of all paths of a bodhisattva, has immeasurable benefits, and generates all the qualities of the path. Nowadays, although the recitation and meditation of the rituals of various schools are emphasized, there is less and less clinging to the Teacher Shakyamuni Buddha. However, those who have entered this doctrine should have utmost faith in the Teacher.
